My fear spiked and I was in complete state of panic. Eric was standing there with a doubtful expression. I suppressed a shiver and trembled from inside.

"I...was just looking...for something." I couldn't gather my words.

"Looking for what? Treasure? Or placing anything to harm us?" Eric's tone was scaring me.

"Do I look like a traitor to you Eric? I was searching my pendant. I know there's no way you are going to believe me but atleast I can prove you like that." I can't hide my emotions anymore.

"Let me get to this straight and I need you to answer me seriously. Tell me Miss Rosy, where are you truly from. I have never met anyone with an accent like yours. You say and do the oddest thing. To be honest, the tale you weave exists only in fantasies. So I must know the truth." I could see rage of anger in Eric's eyes.

"You wouldn't believe me even if I say the truth Eric." Tears started to roll down.

Eric brushes a strand of hair, deepening his look into my eyes.

"Try me."

I took a deep breath and started.

"I'm from the future. I was born in 1990s and I had recently come to Turkey with my friends for a vacation. We were walking round the beach and my eyes fell on the abandoned pendant immersed half inside the sand. I was attracted and I wore it around my neck. Honestly I still have no idea how I was pulled back here."

"You aren't drunk right." Eric replied

"I knew this was coming."

I turned back to leave but Eric pulls my wrist gently and said

"I want to but this is so fantasy like thing."

"Let me predict some things from future. A time would come when people would be using machines and devices to sail long distance places. There would be aeroplanes more than ships for travelling. TVs will be invented one day that will keep you entertained and updated with everything around this globe. Future will be using cell phones to talk to people who are miles away from you. No letters and no wired telephone. With a click you are done. Lists like this will be continued."

I stopped to look at Eric and he was standing there still.

"I'm not sure if you are mad or drunk." Eric replied without any emotion.

"It's very hard to believe Eric. Once I get that damn pendant in my hand, I could easily make you believe."

"How? By disappearing?" Eric's voice soft.

"So you believe that it would happen right." My eyes brightened

"I don't know. More than that I'm scared to loose you."

Eric was gazing at me strongly but in a lovely manner.

"Give me some time Miss Rosy. I'll come talk to you once I make up my mind. Till then you can keep searching for your necklace."

Eric left without saying another word.

With no luck, I left the deck in a hope that I'll find it some other day.
I went back to my cottage, waiting for a new morning.
