Eric left me with Janet and headed back to his room.
"Remember you have to make good impression on the crew members. Let's start with the gunners" said Janet.
A little near by I saw three men cleaning their pistols.
"Rosy, meet Joan, Sean and Henry. Joan and Sean are the main gunners and Henry is their helper."
"Hello there mystery girl." They laughed.
"Relax everyone, just give her some time" Janet supported me.
"Can I see your gun?" I asked
Everyone eyes at me suspiciously but hands it over after confirming it's not loaded.
"Let's start with cleaning, it's simple. First we flush the barrel, clean it with a cloth and oil it inside out." Sean explained
I nodded and flushed the water, cleaned it properly, oiled it as he said.
"Impressive!! I hope you will be a useful lad here." Jonas patted me.With a satisfied smile we then moved to the other pirates.
Next we were with the pirates who handles the sail of the ship.
"Fellas this is Rosy. And Rosy they are Fred and John. They climb high on that rope and deals with the sail according to the wind. Will you be able to climb there?" Janet asked.
"Kid this is no joke. If you fail you will find yourself in the sea." John explained.
"I think I can."
I step lightly onto the rope ladder which was little difficult as it was swaying away as I climbed. I panicked a bit but I grasped the rope making myself steady and climbed to the end.
"Phew!! That was close" I said catching my breath.
"You did well. Keep going and it won't be any difficult to be a part here." Fred sounded proud.
They then showed me how to adjust the sail and after a while we left.
