Au (coffee shop)

After their class, Luz left to go to her internship, and Willow left to go to her job.

Luz got into the hospital, immediately running into Eda. "Hey kid, what's up?" "Just ready to get started!" Eda slapped Luz' back, as she started towards the back, "great to hear, we have a patient who's about to go under, so we need you to talk to the family, okay?"

Luz nodded as she grabbed some scrubs and headed to the back to change. She opened the door and saw Eda waiting for her, "the family's in room 131, the patient is going in for an Esophagectomy, just tell them what they need to know."

Luz grabbed the clipboard Eda handed her, as she walked into the room, seeing the family there, "Hello, I'm Luz, and I'll be telling you about the surgery and what to do after everything is said and done." The family was obviously worried, understandably so.

"What we'll be doing is taking out some of his esophagus, and then reconstructing it so it can heal, he will be put on an all liquid diet for the first 4 to 8 weeks, then he will be moved onto soft foods, and once he's back on a normal diet, be careful with steaks and tough meat in general, they can be hard to swallow, so just have him cut it up into small pieces, and have him chew well."

The family looked at one another, some still scared, some calmed down a bit, and one looking neutral. "Any questions?" The family stayed silent, "alright, I'll be going then, have a nice day."

Luz left, making her way to the surgery, where she mainly got to watch Eda work, and did a lot of suction, or handed Eda the tools she needed.

After 5 hours, it was finally done, and Eda just closed up the patient, letting out a sigh, that took a while, it's about 4, why don't you go home and eat dinner or something, i don't have any other surgeries scheduled today." Eda said as they left the room.

"Thanks Eda, I'll see you at the apartments." Eda nodded and sent her on her way, Luz running to the coffee shop to talk to willow and Gus, maybe plan something for the weekend.

She got to the place, and sure enough, Gus was at the counter, Willow making pastries, and Amity making drinks. She walked over to the counter, waving to Gus.

"Hey Gus, how's your day been?" "Good, I haven't had to get anything from up to high, and Amity isn't being her usual mean self, she's been pretty nice to us lately, not nice, nice, but nice, ya know." Luz nodded, "yeah, oh well, can I just get my usual-" Luz was cut off from her stomach growling, "and something to eat maybe?"

"Good call, I'll have that right out for you." Luz thanked him and went to sit down, getting out her text book to study.

"You baked it to long." "I know, I have eyes, I have glasses to help my eyes!" "Just saying, you baked it to long, just redo it." Willow started to get angry but stopped for a second, just breathing out.

"I can see it's burned, I'm going to make a new one." "Cool, don't burn it this time." Luz watched as the two fought, "don't burn yourself out, you really worried Willow" Luz wondered how Amity could go from that, to, well, that.

Willow begrudgingly turned away, just wanting to get it done, amity walked away, back to her machines. "Luz, you're stuff is done!" Gus yelled, getting Luz' attention.

She walked over to the counter where gus have a BLT and her normal drink. "Thanks Gus-" "God damn it! You got coffee on my text book, Willow."

"I-I'm sorry Amity, it was an accident, I'll pay for a new one!" Amity rolled her eyes, looking at the now coffee soaked pages, "this thing was expensive, shit."

"You can borrow mine for the time being." Luz offered, catching the girl's attention. "What?" "You can burrow mine, Eda has one at the apartments that I can burrow for a little while, she kind of stole it from the hospital." Amity looked at her confused, then back at Willow.
