Hanjeong Precinct.
Three weeks after the crime.

★★

This is not what I signed up for.

All seven men thought to themselves when the strident yelling of the chief hit their ears.

"Yes chief." Nodded the team leader when the chief finished with his scolding, his voice being a product of pure cacophony.

Namjoon turned off the device. Turning to his team, he heaved a sigh. Everyone had blank faces, their unreadable gazes fixed on their desks, lingering on the dark brown wood.

"If it wasn't for my sick mother, I would've quit this place a long time ago." Yoongi rubbed his temple, heading over to his desk after he put the file back in the cabinet.

"Now that's a lie." Jimin prompted, "we all know the only reason you aren't quitting Hanjeong precinct is because you've been removed by the other ones." He smirked.

Yoongi shot Jimin a death glare, brutally murdering the other in his mind.

"It's kind of funny how Yoongi just called his chief an asshole back in Seoul." Seokjin cracked a laugh.

"What about that time when he refused to catch that pickpocket back in Busan because apparently that dude was 'fucking with his sleep'?" Taehyung reminded everyone.

"And that time when Yoongi just showed up late for the meeting?" Jungkook chimed in. "What was the reason again?" He looked at Yoongi, mockery written all over his face.

"By all accounts, it was because he didn't have a certain liking for his boss." Hoseok piped up, joining the teasing.

"If you all don't shut the fuck up, I'll shoot you in the heads." Yoongi grumbled, rolling his eyes and sinking into his chair.

"Oh how menacing." Seokjin jeered at the pale fellow, sarcasm glutting his voice.

"Guys, I appreciate the fact that you all try and stay calm during tensioned situations but this is serious." Namjoon spoke up, unapologetically interrupting the fun the others were having. "We need to find the accused culprit. Or not only will we lose our jobs, we won't be able to bring justice to an innocent."

"Damn, okay buzz-kill." Seokjin rolled his eyes, snorting.

Namjoon crossed his arms over his chest. He leaned on his desk as he asked Seokjin, "have you no amount of sympathy for an innocent who's been victimized in a heinous crime of rape and murder?"

"Okay one: can you stop talking like a lawyer please?" Seokjin's brows joined themselves, "and two: we're all trying to find the culprit. We're working on it. We have sympathy. You don't have to get so emotional." Seokjin stated, a little annoyed by Namjoon.

"Keeping aside our arguments," Hoseok entered the conversation. "It's been three weeks since the crime has been committed and we haven't found the culprit, nor any evidence regarding the crime. Moreover, the victim has been unconscious since three weeks too. What do we do?"
