Ava
Aaaaaaah!
I bolted upright against the chair when I heard the scream of a woman and the book fell from my lap.
Aaaaaaaah!
I rushed to the window, looking around for any sign of a woman but she was nowhere to be seen. Bork told me that no one lived here except Dave's friend. But Dave's friend was out of town. Tim accompanied Rosalyn to her regular pregnancy check-up. Both of them would be back in the morning. Dave and Rowan headed for their next business deal. Only the person who was there was Bork. I glanced at the clock: it was half past midnight. Who was screaming? Was anyone in trouble in the forest? It was a woman.
As soon as I reached the living room, the power cut, and all lights turned out. Shit! Darkness was everywhere around me. I needed to find Bork. He had told his house was behind the building. Maybe he will be there.
Aaaaaaaah!!
Again, her scream echoed. I shivered. Who is she? I grabbed the banister to balance my body because I could see nothing properly. The faint glow of the moon illuminated the glass door, and I stared outside. My heart skipped a beat when I saw a dark figure. Someone was watching me? Someone was there hiding behind the tree and watching me. "B-Bork!" My voice cracked from fear. "Is-Is that you?" I swallowed the lump in my throat. He moved further, slowly stepping towards the door. He was coming towards me. "Bork!!"
I turned around and hurried back to the kitchen door leading to Bork's house. He was not Bork because he was huge and tall. I didn't have a phone to call Dave. Huh, as if he would ever help me. Maybe it was him. Accidentally, I stubbed my toe on some obstacle, pitched forward, and hit my head into something that felt like a door. I winced as pain shot through my head.
Ignoring the pain, I jogged to the door. My heart pounded under my chest and sweat beads trickleddown my forehead. Panting, I ran out and finally found Bork's small door. But before I could reach there, someone grabbed me by my forearm and threw me back. An arm wrapped around my neck, squeezing me slightly. "It's playtime, baby." A deep voice whispered in my ear. "Now it's your turn to scream."
My vision grew blurry as tears gathered in my eyes and fear clawed through me. He tightened his grip around my neck. "You'll play with us." He warned and threw me away. I fell on my knees and my legs became paralyzed. Breathing heavily, I looked up, seeing several dark figures hovering over me, and circled me. Who were they? Dave and his friends?
I pushed my body up and stood, but stumbled back when someone grabbed the fistful of my hair and pulled me back to him. I cried because of the burning pain in my scalp. I threw my hands at him, trying to escape. "Fuck off!" I growled. "Who are you?" I elbowed his stomach as hard as I could and got rid of him. "You all!" I growled, looking at the dark figures.
A man came close to me. I heard him scoffing. He leaned forward; I flinched. "I can't wait to get inside your tight cunt!" He whispered, amusement laced in his voice.
"Mrs. Francis!" I heard Bork's distant voice.
I turned my head to his voice. "Bork!" I called him out. Swallowing, I looked back at them, but they disappeared. I stepped further and a hand grasped me. I jolted back, gasping.
"Mrs. Francis!" Bork said and lifted the lantern over his face. The light illuminated us. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
I sighed, catching my breath. "Who were they?" I asked, looking back in the direction from where they had come.
"Who?"
I shook my head. "I heard a woman's scream somewhere. When I got out of the room suddenly all the lights went out." I swallowed. "When I was searching for you, a man in a black outfit caught me. He was not just only a man, but he had also his friends. I couldn't see their faces but..."
