More on Atlantis

here's some more stuff I found on Atlantis because I could

Here's what i meant in the last chapter about Atlantis pulling an Australia

(Orientations: South is the top of the map and North is the bottom)

It's an old map as you can see, but looking at it for a bit longer the map is slightly geographically incorrect and it wouldn't make sense if Atlantis was real. At all.

so i did some more digging about.
And I found this one

(White shows the stretch of the Atlantean Empire)

And that one makes a lot more sense, though it doesn't follow the Atlantic Ridge, which would probably be more logical.

Though the Empire (in White) makes complete sense, considering that Atlantis was considered a huge Naval Power.

Here's the Atlantic Ridge if you wanted to know

If Atlantis was along that ridge, it would make more sense because that is where two continental plates are drifting apart, and if Atlantis was real, it could've possibly sunk into that. As well as the fact that Atlantis was said to have sunk with a series of Earthquakes and Volcanic Eruptions, which would point in that direction.

But.

If we want to go to a more historically correct place, considering, Atlantis would be in the Mediterranean Sea.

There's also plenty of islands that could possibly be Atlantis. Take Santorini (or Thira) for example.

Santorini was the sight of one of the largest Volcanic Eruptions in History that was ever recorded. The eruption was devastating, and it was said to have possibly lead to the downfall of the Minoan civilisation on the island of Crete at the height of it's power which was destroyed by a huge tsunami (caused by the tsunami?).

Santorini was evidently devastated by the Eruption, but it does still stand today.

Plato said that Atlantis was created by beings that were half god and half human. Atlantis was the Utopian civilisation he created for his philosophy stuff.

But what led up to the fall of the Atlantean was the fact that it sunk.

The people had grown extremely corrupt (basically evil) because of the great power and riches they had possession of.

This led the ancient Gods (like Neptune and Jupiter and Pluto i'm assuming because of the time period and where the legend originated) to become very displeased with the people of Atlantis.

Then the Gods sent eruptions and earthquakes and sunk Atlantis for forever, never to be seen again.

And that's your daily dose of ancient greek legend or myth whatever you wanna call it
