Shade Academy Medical Room, Vacuo,  Over 3 Weeks Ago

Lian woke up to the beeping sounds of all of the hospital machines in the room. Although her mind was now awake, her eyes took a moment to open, partly due to the bright lights in the room. She was only able to get them open slightly, her head still ached harshly from her injuries.

"Welcome back," said a familiar woman's voice.

Slowly, Lian turned her head to the left to try and see the source of the voice. As she looked at the woman, her vision finally began to clear up. However, it wasn't until the woman stopped talking that Lian could fully recognize her.

"You've been out for a long time, Lian," said the woman. "Try not to move too much, you've been through a lot."

Once Lian's vision cleared, she realized that the woman speaking to her was Professor Verbena, who wore some more loose formal clothing. Verbena sat in a chair right alongside the hospital bed that Lian was laying in. A glass of lemonade sat ontop of the cabinet next to the bed, freshly served but untouched. Verbena finally grabbed the glass and took a sip before placing it right back onto the cabinet.

"Professor?" Lian slowly said. "What are you doing here?"

"To check up on you, of course," said a male voice to Lian's right.

Lian turned and saw Professor Duster looking right back at her with a smile. Behind Duster sat Maxillo, who promptly waved at Lian as to not interrupt Duster.

"We heard about what happened to you two and came as soon as we could," Duster explained.

"Oh... I see," Lian said. "Well... how long have we been out?"

"Two days," Verbena responded. "You and Maxillo got hit harder than any of the others."

Lian looked at Verbena with a confused look, "Others? You mean..."

"She's talking about us," said a woman from behind Verbena.

Verbena moved out of the way to reveal the woman, who Lian recognized almost instantly. It was Ana, the Swordfish bandit that she had saved. Alongside her sat her sister, Mina, with a cold glass of lemonade in her hands. Lian was confused by her presence until she started to look at the other hospital beds. To Lian's surprise, all of the Swordfish bandits were also in the medical room and recovering from their injuries.

"We're all here," Mina said, grabbing Lian's attention. "Each and every single one of us."

"I can't believe it," Lian said, amazed. "I thought you guys would've gotten locked up... how come you're still here?"

"It's because Mina and I spoke with the Headmaster," Ana began to explain. "Since all of us got tricked by Iris, Theodore decided to forgive us... on one exception."

"Sounds awfully nice of him," Lian commented. "What was the exception?"

"We all join the D.U.N.E. agency with you guys!" Mina replied cheerfully.
