Meet Us by Sundown

For a moment I thought,

The phone was ringing in my head,

It's been ages since someone called me

 And asked if I'm okay

"Hello? Meet us by sundown,

We're riding down the town"

Should I pretend to check my schedule?

"Sure, I'll join along" I've been waiting for one call

So I pick my favourite dress

Wondering the number of comments,

Will be whispering in ears

Nowadays my body is someone else's to assess.

And top the day with a cherry,

I couldn't make past the door

Cause the very first audience

Was sitting at my home, sneering

 "You should've worn something short."
