Rose
"ALBUS!!" I shrieked, crushing Albus in a giant bear hug, " We are going to Hogwarts! I can't believe it! I am so- Albus, are you okay?" I asked, noticing the look of fear on his face. I wasn't the only one that noticed either because Uncle Harry pulled Albus to the side to talk to him. I took that time to look around Platform 9 and 3/4. It was huge, with smoke from the train covering the ceiling it looked as if it were about to rain even though I knew that it was actually a bright and sunny day.
"Rose," Albus pulled me out of my trance, "The train is leaving. Come on!"
"Coming!" I called after him as he ran off. When I finally caught him he was boarding the train and saying his goodbyes to Aunt Ginny, Uncle Harry, and Lily. "Bye Mum! Bye Dad! Bye Hugo!" I called as the train began to move.
"Bye Rosie Posie!" Dad called after the train that was slowly picking up speed.
"Al, we need to find a compartment," I told Albus once we couldn't see King's Cross Station any longer.
"Yeah, okay!" He replied. As we walked along we realized how many first years there were that didn't know anybody. We knew Lucy, Roxanne, and a bit Alice and they were just the ones in our year! When we got to the end of the train and saw no empty compartments we decided to just go sit with Lucy and Roxanne. On our way to there compartment we passed a compartment with a boy all by himself.
"Rose! We should sit with him so he isn't lonely," Albus said coming to a halt.
"Sure! It would be nice to get to know some people that aren't our cousins," I replied.
Albus opened the compartment door and the boy looked up, "Hi," he said shyly.
"Hello!" Albus said cheerfully, "Mind if we sit here?"
"Not at all," the boy replied. I sat down and studied the boy. He had platinum blonde hair and pale skin that made his slightly pink cheeks stand out. To be honest he was sort of cute but I was too young and too busy to really care much.
"What are your names?" the blonde asked.
"I'm Rose Granger-Weasley and this is Albus Potter," I replied with as much dignity as I could muster.
"Oh. I'm Scorpius. Scorpius Malfoy," he replied, obviously nervous.
"Malfoy! Ugh! No doubt spawn of Draco Malfoy! Albus come on! Let's go find Lucy!" I said, standing abruptly.
"I think I'll stay here. You go on without me," Albus replied calmly. I noticed Malfoy whisper something to Albus and they both started laughing.
"Whatever!" I huffed and stormed away to go find Lucy and Roxanne.
The rest of the train ride was mostly uneventful because I wanted to finish reading The Great Gatsby before we got there. When we arrived I didn't even bother looking for Albus because I knew he was still with Malfoy and I certainly didn't want to talk to him.

The Great Hall was already packed when Lucy, Roxanne, Alice, and I got there from the boats. We had t stand at the entrance and wait forever for the sorting ceremony to start. Finally, finally, Professor Dublan, the transfiguration teacher, started calling names.
"Boot, Kaitlin!"
RAVENCLAW!
I wasn't 100% sure but I was pretty sure she was Terry Boot's daughter.
"Dove, Ryan!"
GRYFFINDOR!
I didn't know who he was but he looked older so he might have been an exchange student.
"Granger-Weasley, Rose!"
I walked over to the stool, trying to calm my nerves. As soon as the hat touched my head he began to talk.
'Hm, you are very smart I see...'
'Just get it over with!'
'Ooh! Nasty temper you've got... Maybe Slyth-'
'NO! I don't wanna be Slytherin!'
'Well then... It must be GRYFFINDOR!'
I sighed with relief and walked over to the Gryffindor table to be congratulated by James, Victore, Fred, and Molly.
After a couple more names Alice was called.
"Longbottom, Alice!"
HUFFLEPUFF!
The Hufflepuff table exploded in cheers to welcome their new house mate.
"Malfoy, Scorpius!"
SLYTHERIN!
Scorpius proudly marched over to the Slytherin table and was welcomed with open arms.
"Nettle, Ophelia!
GRYFFINDOR!
She walked over shyly and I motioned for her to sit next to me. "Hello! I'm Rose!"
I said, excited to meet someone new.
"Potter, Albus!"
SLYTHERIN!
The Great Hall was silent. Then, as if on command the hall erupted with hushed whispers.
"A Potter?"
"In Slytherin?"
"No way!"
Albus timidly walked over to where Scorpius was waiting, a reassuring smile on his face.
"Scamander, Lorcan!"
RAVENCLAW!
A couple more and...
"Weasley, Lucy!"
RAVENCLAW!
I clapped and cheered along with the Ravenclaw table.
"Weasley, Roxanne!"
GRYFFINDOR!
Our table's cheers filled to Great Hall as Roxanne sat on the other side of Ophelia who was watching her twin brother over at the Hufflepuff table. As Eleanor Zabini was sorted I started looking to see how Albus was doing. To my relief that he wasn't sad but my disappointment of choice I saw he was laughing along to something Malfoy said. I couldn't keep that sight out of my head as I ate dinner and then walked up to the common room. My cousin, the traitor.
