Spencer Reid's pov

As I left the book store I reminisced on her. I had never met someone quite like her. She was nice bold but not arrogant.  I wondered if I would ever see her again. Probably not. When I got back to quantico we were working on a new case. Garcia would brief us and then we would go to the house since it was already in Virginia. She said it was about a 16 year old girl named Amber that had gone missing 2 days ago. Her family was visiting relatives in another country at the time. They had no knowledge of this happening and said she had no boyfriends or enemies. Their local police department had already interviewed a few of her friends. Most of them said she had stayed in for the night. When we arrived at the house her phone was on the couch no signs of forced entry. Every window and door was locked. Nothing looked out of place. Her room was clean no notes or blood anywhere. Their was a good chance the unsub took her to an alternative location and she's still alive.

After inspecting the house for a while the local police department arrived. The chief of police was there for some reason. He explained that her parents were friends with him and he wanted to be in the loop about the investigation. He said he would not let his emotions affect how he did his job. He just wanted to give them closure and find her as soon as possible. Another police car pulled up. An officer stepped out but there was someone in the passenger seat. It was a girl not wearing a uniform blond hair. Maybe she was one of the girls friends. I decided to explore the town and see if anything was out of the ordinary. I wanted to talk with the locals so I told hotch I was going to a coffee shop. I went to one in the town square called coffee house. I ordered my usual.

"I work for the Fbi behavioral analysis unit, were investigating a case in this town, mind if I ask you a few questions?" I asked the barista as she handed me my coffee. She nodded. First I explained the situation and who went missing. She said she recognized the girls name and said she was a smart student who played many sports. "Did she often come here with anyone in particular?" I asked.

"With her girlfriends, never boys, I know her parents and they are very strict about that." She responded

"So do you think she ran away from her parents because of how strict they were?"

"possibly they raised a bright child but held her to very high standards", she said. I thanked her and went back to the house. I stepped inside and noticed a familiar face. It was the girl that I had met yesterday at the book store. Since this was a local case she must have been investigating. She approached me.

"Hey, Spencer is it?"

I nodded my head, "yeah, what a coincidence" I said laughing.

"Come upstairs I have to show you something", she said. She entered the girls room. She opened up one of her desk drawers with a gloved hand. "Theirs makeup but she tossed it in here with out closing it, indicating she was in a hurry. She also must have taken a shower right before she went missing the towel in the bathroom is still damp", she explained.

"So what do you think happened then?"I questioned.

"Well she was probably going out to a party and right before she left she had another idea. Hear me out she was sick of her strict parents and knew if they found out she went to the party they would ground her. So she probably wanted to trick us into thinking she went to a party", she speculated.

"so where do you think she is then?"

"In retrospect she could be anywhere, in town at a local park or bus stop or hiding in a public bathroom. she was probably at the breaking point and wanted to get away from her parents. In fact her parents controlling her and having this high of a standard of her could have caused a slew of mental health problems like depression and anxiety."

I'm going to go interview the parents, they just arrived a few hours ago at the police station. Maybe you should come you seem to know more about this then me." She agreed and we got in the police car she drove to the station. On the way she told me that I should play dumb, and say that I was a boy from her school that was dating her. To see the parents reaction and the severity of the situation. I did look pretty young so I decided her plan was worth a shot. I took off my badge. I was wearing a sweater so It didn't really look like I was in uniform.
