Scarlet's POV

I would never forget the incident that happened on my last day in high school.

Summer Maxwell was never my friend but she wasn't all evil. On that particular day, I and my best friend, Alicia, were invited to Summer's last day in high school party.

I'm not exactly a party going person. I wouldn't call myself a nerd but I was in that category.
It took Alicia exactly 2 hours to convince me to go to Summer's party.

"Scarlet, it won't hurt if you attend the party. Besides if I get drunk I need someone sober by my side" she said pouting her cute pink lips.

I rolled my eyes at her knowing I couldn't resist her cuteness.

"'Kay, I would come but no drinking and no hookups with any guy. Promise?" I said

"I promise. I love you, thanks" she said hugging and kissing me on my cheek.

I shouldn't have listened to Alicia. I should have stayed at home and drowned myself in ice cream but I went anyway.

Alicia picked a yellow crop top and ripped jeans for me and she wore her favorite shirt yellow gown.

When we got to the party, Alicia and I went to meet with some of our friends, Harry Cahill, the nerdiest of us, Sterling Coleman, the fashion diva, Kyler Anderson, the boy my best friend had a crush on and one of the cutest guys in school.

At times I begin to wonder why he hangs out with us, the uncool kids

Summer walked over to us with her all time best friend, Macy Lewis.

"Hey weirdos. I see you guys decided to show up. Well if you need anything, ask the butler or the maids. See you" she said, laughed hysterically and left before anyone of us replied her with Macy following behind.

"Meanies" Sterling hissed and the rest of laughed.

"I'm coming guys. I need to use the restroom" I said and left hastily.

After doing my business in the bathroom, I decided to take a quick selfie and posted it on Instagram without looking at it. I left and went to join my friends.

About 30 minutes later, likes and comments from the picture I posted earlier on Instagram started popping up.

Then I actually decided to look at the picture people were liking and commenting on. That was when I noticed in the background of the picture that Summer and her boyfriend's best friend, Louis were making out.

Everyone was making fun of Summer and smirking or smiling at me. Just then, Summer's boyfriend, Everest showed up and punched Louis on his jaw. He'd probably seen my post.

"Fuck you, Louis. You were supposed to be my best friend. Asshole"Everest said, angrily and walked over to where Summer was standing.

"Babe, let me exp..."Summer said, afraid.

"Summer, look, I never loved or liked you. I just used you so my high school life wouldn't be boring. Since we're done with high school, it's over!!!"Everest said and walked out of the party.

Summer just stood there with her mouth wide open and in tears. She probably wasn't crying because Everest broke up with her but was crying because she was embarrassed in front everyone at her party.

"Who posted that picture?"she screamed in tears.

"I did,"I confessed, "but I really didn't mean it that way. I was taking a selfie and I didn't see you there. I swear."

"Scarlet, you are so going to paying for this. Now you and your nerdy friends, GET OUT OF MY PARTY!!"she shouted angrily.

"I'm sorry, Summer. I didn't mean...." I tried explaining.

"GET OUTTTT!!!"she screamed loudly.

Alicia, I and the rest of my friends left the party.

"Scarlet, we know that you didn't do it purposely" Kyler said when we got to Sterling's car and I almost broke down.

"Don't do that, Scarlet"Sterling said.

"Yeah, Scarlet. We totally trust you"Alicia said and hugged me.

"But you know, Summer deserved it big time" Harry said and winked, which made the rest of us laugh.

"And you got more followers on Instagram"Alicia said and nudged me.

"You guys are the best friends any girl could ever have" I said, sniffing.

"Awww. Group hug"Kyler said and we all hugged each other.

"Let's all go home"Sterling said, got in the car and started it when we had all pulled away from the hug.

The ride home was exciting and fun as we played songs by Billie Eilish and Cardi B.

Alicia slept half way through the ride as she was a little bit tipsy. We dropped off Harry, Sterling and Alicia in their houses and Kyler dropped me last.

"Bye Ky" I said when we got to my house.

"Wait Scarlet"Kyler called when I got down the car, "I really want to tell you something".

"Go on. I'm listening"I reassured him when he hesitated.

"I really like Alicia but I don't know how to tell her for the fear of being rejected by her"he blurted out at once and his cheeks shone a tint of pink from blushing and he looked away.

I laughed. Kyler wasn't someone to let his guard down. He was usually the cute tough bad guy, flirting with girls. He liking Alicia, my nerdy-fashion-obsessed best friend, was a big surprise.

"Who ever imagined the bad boy, Kyler Anderson, to be in love with the nerd, Alicia Parker?"I teased and he blushed even more.

"Shut up"he said.

"Don't worry, Ky. Just ask her out to see her reaction and tell me the details when she accepts. Bye Ky"I winked at him and shut the door without giving him a chance to reply.
