Lily's pov:
I woke up later than usual, I'd had a dream about Jordan last night and I couldn't stop thinking about him, as cliche as it sounds. I did my normal morning routine and quickly ate my breakfast as I was running kinda late. I grabbed my bag and locked up, Ella had already texted me three times so I quickly ran to her house. When I got there she was already waiting outside so I muttered a quick sorry and we speedily walked to Sky and Tessa's.
"How come you guys are late?" They both questioned.
"Sorry I kinda slept in," I admitted sheepishly, the girls looked surprised as it was usually Ella who was late. We soon set off in a steady pace towards school. Ella and Tessa were in front chatting, whilst Skylar and I were having a conversation of our own walking a few feet behind them.
"So what was that about with Jordan yesterday?" Asked Sky, wiggling her eyebrows.
"What ever do you mean?" I replied innocently.
"Ohhh, don't act clueless, how long have you liked him?" She asked, whispering the last part.
"Well, I had a tiny crush on him last year and I suppose it's just grown." I told her quietly, blushing slightly.
"Why did you wait until now to tell me?!" She whisper-yelled.
" I didn't tell anyone," I stated defensively.
We dropped the subject and just carried on talking about random things, walking until we reached the school. Ella and I spilt off from Sky and Tessa, and said 'see you in a bit' and walked into class.
The school bell went off just as we walked into the classroom and there were still a couple empty seats so we were okay for time thankfully. I would have felt awful if I'd caused us all to be late. Ella and I quickly found our seats and I realised everyone at my table was already there.
I sat down and started talking to Leah across the table, she was always great to talk to as she knew all the gossip! We were chatting, gasping and even squealing, as Callum and Jordan just looked at us amused.
"What is it?" I asked them.
"Nothing," Jordan said with a smirk on his face.
I just rolled my eyes playfully and turned back to Leah.
"OMG, I forgot to tell you, Ben asked me out yesterday!" Leah squealed.
"What?! Why didn't you say? Tell me everything!!" I exclaimed.
"Did he now?" Jordan interrupted, he and Callum suddenly becoming involved in our conversation.
"Why didn't he tell us?" Callum said pouting playfully.
I just laughed and looked at Leah expectantly.
"What?" She asked.
"When are you going out with him?" I said excitedly.
"Tonight" she said with a wide grin on her face. ( it's Wednesday btw)
My best friend is so whipped I thought, but at least she's happy.
I walked to lunch with Callum and Jonah, as we were in Business class together. As Callum walked down the steps I jumped on his back, luckily he didn't fall. He just continued down the steps and ran with me on his back spinning around and dodging the younger kids, as I held on for dear life. Jonah stood a few feet away just videoing us and keeling over with laughter. Most kids looked at us like we were weird but the kids in our year were used to it we'd been like this for the past four years, just messing about laughing. We constantly got asked if we were dating and we always denied it because we'd known each other since we were 5 and he was my best friend. Also it would be awkward if we dated, as we were family friends. His whole family was like a second family to me.
The three of us made our way to the lunch queue to get our baguettes, whilst in the queue I heard a lady shout 'CLARKE', I whipped my head around to see Sally walking towards me, she worked in the school but my mum was friends with her and her husband so I saw her often; "Hey Sally!" I said giving her a tight hug.
"I feel like I haven't seen you in ages, how are you? How's Gary?" I asked
"We're doing great thanks sweetie, I hope you had a good summer!" She said.
We chatted for a while until we reached the front of the queue.
"Okay I'll see you later sweetie," she told me, she then turned to Jonah and said "and you young man don't let me see you with your phone out again," she scolded playfully.
"Bye Sally!" I shouted as she walked away, she just turned her head, winked at me and the carried on walking.
I knew Jonah had already posted that video of us messing about, he does it all the time, I think we fill up his camera roll to be honest, but oh well.
We made our way onto the field where the rest of our friends were, all 13 of us sat in a big circle in the same spot on the field every day when the weather was nice, and we had a table inside the canteen for when it was cold or raining.
I sat in between Jordan and Sebastian,
"What took you guys so long?" Asked Tessa.
"Lily was just chatting with her best friend Sally," teased Jonah
"Hey! I'm her best friend!" Shouted Ella and Callum in sync. We all looked at each other and burst out laughing.~ Time skip to the end of the day ~
Izzie, Tessa and I walked to netball practice together the other girls didn't play. Leah and Becca did running/cross country. Skylar did Horse riding, Emma danced and I played hockey too. As we walked we bumped into Jordan, Jamie and Seb.
"Hey, where are you girls off to?" Asked Jamie.
"We've got netball practice, what about you guys?" I replied.
"We're off to rugby practice," said Seb.
We said our goodbyes and headed off. All year groups could play netball, our coach worked with years 8, 9 and 10. Whilst us year 11s worked with the year 7s teaching them the rules usually as most of them had never played before. I was team captain and a girl called Maisie was co-captain. She was a nice girl and we were friends but she was quieter so we didn't really talk much outside of netball.
There were ten girls from year 7 who had decided to sign-up which was great because then they could all be on the team and we wouldn't have to do the hard job of saying they didn't make the team.
We passed the ball round in a circle and all said our names and then paired up a year 7 and a year 11 in a pair.
I was paired with a sweet girl called Bea. We did passing skills and some shooting practice and she was actually a great player.
"You're a natural!" I told her.
"You really think so?!" She squealed.
"Yeah, you're probably better than some of the girls on my year 10 team, but don't tell them I told you that." I said whispering the last part and winking. She just giggled.
By the end of practice we were pretty much friends.
"You can come to me whenever you need, ok? If your lost or have any questions I'll help you out." I offered. She just nodded and thanked me. I dismissed the girls and stayed behind to help tidy up.
I heard a small cough behind me, as I turned around I saw Jordan standing there with a small smile playing on his lips.
"Hey, what are you still doing here?" I asked.
"The same thing as you, captain has to help clean up," he replied.
I just chuckled softly.
"Do you want to walk home with me?" He asked.
"Sure, where about do you live?" I inquired.
"A few streets down from Callum's house." He replied. I smiled, that was only a little further than my house. I just nodded and we started to walk, we talk about random things, our pets, how our days were. It felt so easy to talk to him, there were no awkward silences.
As we reached my house, I spoke, "Well this is my stop, I'll see you tomorrow!"
"We should walk home together after practice next week, I enjoy spending time with you alone." He said with a wink.
I just blushed and nodded.
He pulled me in for a hug which didn't last as long as I would've liked, and whispered goodbye in my ear.
He walked away and we waved at each other before I opened the door and walked in.
What a day! I thought to myself.~1478 words
