-Slay demons. Save people.
That was Giyu's only purpose, atleast to him. If he died, he died, so what? If all the demons died, then thats that. He didn't have friends because he didn't care for them, it was because of his bland, somewhat mute, and unlikeable personality.
Yet, somehow, with this personality of his, he'd managed to make people he—thinks are his friends. Those being Tanjiro Kamado, and Sanemi Shinazugawa. He talks to them the most, they speak to him.
He's glad he's made—again what he thinks are his friends, but, he knows he also may at some point have to risk losing them, or even himself."Giyu Tomioka! You....have a mission!" Giyu's crow cawed. Very rarely did his crow ever remember to send messages and requests, but when he did, it was almost hard to understand, because his crow was old and weak, his voice was shaky. But, Giyu was able to understand.
Giyu slipped on his haori—one side being a velvety red, belonging to his beloved sister who passed, the other being half of a green yukata, patterned with a geometric hexagon design of yellow and a darker green. The half of the yukata was from his best friend, who died fighting a demon when they were younger, during the Final Selection protecting others.
He's the reason Giyu continues to fight. The reason Giyu doesn't give up and let himself be killed so easily.
Giyu grabbed his nichirin sword and slipped it into it's case, going out of his estate and down to his next mission.
As he ran into a small village, he heard small screams from people, running or hiding. That must mean the demon is up, already taking its prey.
Giyu ran down the hill to the village, being stopped by a womanliving inside the village.
"Thank god! Please help us, sir! There-There's some kind of monster in here!" The woman cried, then pointed down at a house, which had broken windows and screams coming from it.
Giyu nodded and hurried down to the house, opening the door and running over to where he heard the screams.
Instead of one demon, there was two. They both looked exactly the same. Pale, blue skin. One had a horn on the left, the other had one on the right. They were white. That was the only way to tell the difference. They both wore long, dresses, which were slightly torn up most likely from traveling and running. Giyu guessed they were women, because of the dresses and feminine giggles and laughs coming from them as they ripped apart a young man.Giyu pulled out his sword, drawing the demon's attention towards him. The words "Upper Moon 6" was written in their left eyes. They both giggled before running in opposite directions. Both too quick to be seen.
'*Shit.*' Giyu thought. He listened to their footsteps around the house, before hearing them right behind him. Before he could react, he was kicked in the back by both of them. He almost hit the ground, but luckily he caught himself and turned around to face both of them. Both demons smirked and backed up a bit. They giggled and laughed.
"Wow! I think we'll have fun with him, sister! He's not like the other weaklings at all!~" One of the twins smiled, clapping their hands.
"Indeed! I've been waiting for someone like this!" The other one chuckled.
Giyu let out a growl before running towards them.
"Water breathing, first form; Water Surface slash." Giyu swung hus sword at them, but they quickly got out of the way and ran behind him. He heard them take out their claws and slice his neck, all while kicking his back, *again.* Giyu hit the ground, but quickly stood up, grunting while putting a hand on the back of his neck.
"Ah! He's a fighter!~ just what we wanted!" One of the twins cooed.
"You fuckers..." Giyu growled, then put his hand back on his sword. He ran at them again, jumping up slightly.
"Water breathing, fourth form; Striking Tide."
Giyu charged down at them, they both ran again, except one of them moved too late. Giyu sliced the one twin's head off, watching it fly onto the ground. Her body falling backwards.
It was silent for a second, before he heard crying, then—
"AAAAAHHHH!! YOU LITTLE BITCHHH!" The other twin screamed, charging at him at full speed. Her horn glowed—she was the one with the one on the right. It glowed a dark blue, almost a black. Her claws became longer, they were blue with black tips, about 6 inches long.
"Demon blood art: Cries Of The Weak!" (I HAD NO IDEAS PLEAJXKSJDKDJSOSJ SPARE ME) The demon screamed. Shadows formed, looking like identical figures of the demon. They all screamed and cried, getting louder and louder as they charged at Giyu.
Giyu tried to ignore it, his ears hurting. He gripped his sword tighter, waiting for the perfect moment to swing at the figures.
"Water breathing, first form: Water Surface Slash." Giyu said before swinging his sword vertically, slicing all the figures. The figures quickly faded away.
"YOU FOOL!" The demon called from behind him. Giyu turned around, and just before he could even move or blink, the demon had slashed his face. He fell to the ground, hitting his head hard against the wooden floor. The demon stabbed him with her nails in the stomach, about once or twice. Giyu tried getting up, but the pain in his head, neck, face, and stomach were so strong. He wanted to move. He didn't want to die yet, even after knowing he couldn't atleast kill the demon before doing so.
*So, she used the figured as a way to distract me...meaning in general, they couldn't have hurt me. They were just shadows..I'm such a fucking idiot.*
Giyu heard a faint scream, then his vision went out. Everything went black.・
"Giyu?" He heard a voice call. It was right beside him. It sounded familiar.
"Giyuuuuuuuu? You theree?" The boy called.
He felt someone poke his cheek. He opened his eyes with a groan, only for his eyes to stare into lavender ones.
"You're awake!" The boy let out a small sigh. But, this wasn't just anyone, it was—
"S-Sabito....?" Giyu's eyes widen.
"Hi!" Sabito smiled a bit, but that quickly turned into a frown at Giyu's next words,
"What—Where am I..." Giyu propped himself up on his shoulders, looking around. Everything was bright and beautiful. He was currently in grass, surrounded by trees, the sound of birds, and of course, the most beautiful of everything, Sabito.
"I'll tell you later. It's been a while, huh?" Sabito sat down next to him, looking up at the sky.
"Yeah.." Giyu replied, looking off to the side.
"We should catch up with eachother! Do some stuff, y'know?" Sabito looked at him and smiled.
"You also need to work on your technique more. Seems like you're forgetting how to use it as the years go by." Sabito chuckled.
"Wow, still pointing out every little flaw, as always." Giyu joked, a small smile cracking from the corner of his mouth.
Sabito gasped and giggled, gently elbowing him in the shoulder.A couple minutes later, they were already running around. Two adult men—both twenty one, acting like the dumb thirteen year olds they were back then. Pushing and shoving eachother, laughing and giggling as they fell to the ground.
Giyu has never had such a good laugh—or so much fun since he was younger, before Sabito—-nevermind. He shouldn't focus on that. He's finally with him again. Like he always wanted to be.
They both turned to look eachother in the eyes. Sabito put his hand on Giyu's cheek, using his thumb to rub it. Sabito smiled when Giyu turned slightly red.
"Still not one for affection, hm?"
"I—huh?" Giyu turned a bit more red.
Sabito let out a small chuckle and shook his head, sitting up.
"I missed you."
Giyu's eyes widen, he picked his head up to look at him.
"Really....?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I? I've been...waiting for you." Sabito trailed off at the last couple words, then smiled at Giyu.
"Hm. It's getting pretty late out...we should get some sleep."
"Oh..okay." Giyu stood up, along with Sabito.
Sabito smiled and grabbed Giyu's hand, making him blush. He then dragged him down to a small cabin.
"Here. We'll stay here." Sabito opened the door, walking inside. Giyu followed him, closing the door behind them. They both took off their shoes, setting them by the door.
"You can sleep on the extra matress I have if you want."
For some reason, Giyu decided to say the stupidest thing.
"If I want?"
Sabito froze, his eyes widened, then he looked at him.
"Tha—That's not what I meant, idiot." He gently punched him in the arm.
Giyu smiled a bit.
"I know, I know. I was..joking."
Sabito walked into a small room, pulling out a matress. He dragged it into another room, which Giyu assumed to be his bedroom. Sabito walked out and motioned him to come in. Giyu walked into the room, looking around. His room was neat and nice. He had a couple of plants in small pots by a window. His room smelt like vanilla, along with some other sweet stuff. He wasn't surprised—honestly. Sabito always was an organized, clean man. Giyu was honestly the complete opposite.
"If you'd like another blanket, more pillows, or just anything, tell me." Sabito said as he set down pillows and blankets on the matress, setting it up.
He walked over to his own bed and sat down on it. Giyu walked over to the matress and laid down.
Back then, they used to share a matress, eat together, play together, weirdly enough, they'd bathe together. That was back when nothing was weird. They were kids—they didn't know better about anything.
But, know they know what's wrong, what's weird. They're older now.
"Night, Giyu." Sabito yawned, laying back against his pillows. He pulled his blankets over him, up to his neck, then turned to face Giyu.
Giyu did the same, facing Sabito. Their eyes locked.
"Yeah..Night." Giyu closed his eyes.〜
Giyu woke up. His head and body hurt. He guessed maybe it was the matress, but of course he wouldn't complain to—Oh yeah, he's in Sabito's cabin!
Giyu opened his eyes, except he wasn't in Sabito's cabin. He was in the butterfly estate—more so the recovery room. He had bandages wrapped around his head and stomach.
Giyu looked around, before seeing a figure on the bed next to him.
"Yesterday was fun, Giyu. I hope, when you're finally able to come, when can do that again."
It was Sabito, except, he was more so a transparent figure. Giyu could see right through him.
Before he could even speak, he blinked and he was gone.
*Yeah...me too...* Giyu smiled.
