"Hey, do you mind if I hold your hand? I wanna make sure I don't run off without you on accident." You said, facing Kokichi.
"Yeah! Except, I have a girlfriend. Oh man, is she gonna get mad." He replied.

"Wait, girlfriend? Ah, makes sense."
"Nishishi! Just kidding! That was a lie. Wait, hold up. What do you mean, 'makes sense'?"
"Nevermind that, let's get going! We can't stand here forever!"

You grabbed him by the hand, and ran over to the game room. Hesitantly, you opened the door. You stepped in, immediately feeling terrified, and regretting this already. "Hey Rantaro! Uh, what's up? Yeah so, don't go near the library at all, ok?" Wow, great job, Clara. You sound like someone from those '80s commercials who always says radical.

"Why not? What's so bad about the library?" Rantaro questioned. Great plan, glad you thought all of this through. "Ah! Uh well, you know, we're friends and I just want to make sure you're ok!" He walked up to you, pulled you into a hug and whispered in your ear, "that's the crappiest lie I've ever heard, Yoronturo." Dang, did that startle you.

He didn't stop there. He kept whispering.
"You're a fucking stalker, and I want you to get away from me. I don't want you coming near me, I don't want to hear you being worried about me, I don't want anything like last time. And the only way to make it that way is if you stay the hell away from me."

Your eyes went wide, your mouth agape. You couldn't speak, you couldn't move. Nothing could hurt more than how those words stabbed you in the heart. Memories of the past flooded your mind, painful nostalgia hitting you in the face.

You took a moment to recollect yourself. Or, if we're being honest, put on a façade.

"This isn't about me, and this isn't about what happened. This is about you, and you will die if you go near the library. I want to make sure you're safe because some twisted part of my dead-inside, cold, hard, petrified heart still doesn't want you to die. The least you can do is appreciate it." You countered back.

You signaled Kokichi that you were ready to leave, and you did. As soon as you closed the door, you ran off again. You ran to the outside of the school to hide behind it. It was nighttime now. Too dark to see, you just plopped down in the first mini-alley you saw to cry. His words broke you down more than anyone would ever know.

Except, someone wanted to know. Someone actually cared, and he ran after you, somehow not falling behind. "Clara? What happened? Tell me, I want to help." Kokichi said, taking a seat next to you.

You wiped the tears from your eyes, and laid your head against the wall. "It's nothing I can't handle!" You smiled an insincere smile. "Don't worry, I got this!"

"No you don't. A liar can literally hear lies. If you could handle this, you wouldn't be crying. I can help you, but only if you let me."

You sharply inhaled and exhaled. "Alright, I trust you."
