6. Sweet Ben and Jerry's

" Where were you all weekend?" Alex placed the drinks on top of a coffee table.

" You know , just Cooper's " I added nervously.

Alex was never a fan of Cooper , maybe it was because he knew how long I had crushed on him. But I think his player character did not convince him he was my type. As if I ever had one. At first my crush derived from his looks. Later I had learned it was also his quirky personality and his terrible way of flirting with girls.

" Coopy do". He teased me.

" People should arrive at any time " Jemma , spotted cars parked outside her mansion .

As she wiped the table with a cloth to remove the remains of dust and stepped towards the window to take a glance. I remember I was still wearing my gym outfit .

"I'll go and change "I muttered.

I removed the cleaning gloves and headed towards my bag. When opening my bag I could feel the rough texture of my brush, buried into the crevices of my skin .I took out my changing clothes and made small steps into the bathroom.

" Wow " Jemma looked shocked and she slowly came into the room.

" You should wear it down more often" she took the brush from my palm and slowly brushed my hair. I looked into the mirror to see what she's doing.

"So how's it going with Alex?" I asked not knowing if I was intrusive.

With her right hand she took a few clips and parted my hair so that the front pieces of my hair were not covering my face.

" We're good , we've been having lots of dates lately " she took another glance at me and then spoke.

"Done. What do you think?" I stretched my shoulders and responded "perfect".

Taking steps downstairsI could hear faint voices and music playing at a volume I was not so used to.

" What are my two favourite girls up to ?" Alex let his hand out and Jemma took it.

" You know, girl stuff" she chuckled and we walked inside Jemma's immense living room. A bright chandelier glistened above the marble ceiling and I couldn't not stop but notice.

" Look who's here" Alex pointed towards Alice.

My mind was going to explode .How on earth was she invited?

" For that , I may actually need a drink " I stepped towards the kitchen onto the creaky white tiles and headed to the counter to grab a beer but before I could reach one, my hand was blocked by someone else's.

"Sorry " I heard an unfamiliar voice.

I look up to see a handsome guy with brown hair around my age staring at me intensely.

" Don't worry , there's plenty." I smiled politely.

" I haven't seen you around " I commented.

" I have just moved here today, but Jemma's a family friend" he said.

"I'm Theo Murray" he scratched the back of his head.

" I'm Maya , Maya Heamingsway" I greeted the new boy.

His face was shiny from the warmth created by the chandelier . A drop of sweat poured down his face.

" Let me introduce you" I walked towards the living room and he follows me inside.

" This is Alex , my best friend " I pointed towards Alex and he waved back as we walked towards him.

" Hi I'm Jemma's boyfriend " Alex fist pumped his shoulder.
