Falling (Ennotana one-shot)

~~Falling~~

I had to get out.

"Chikara wait!"

I ran as fast as I could.

I was like a old doll.

Seen but not loved.

Used but not needed.

"Please come back! You're going to hurt yourself!"

Bit late for that Tanaka.

All I wanted was to be happy.

I thought I had that.

I had a spot on the team.

I had good grades.

I had a boyfriend that loved me.

That changed when I saw him kissing her.

"I can explain! Please!"

I couldn't see through the blur of tears. The running mixed with my sobs made it hard to breath.

I cleared my vision enough to see that there was a cliff ahead.

Perfect.

I slowed down and wiped my eyes. I put my back to the edge of the cliff to face the man I loved.

"You said you wanted to explain. So i'm giving you the chance."

"I swear it was an accident! She asked for my number and when I gave it to her she kissed me!"

"So why were you kissing back!"

"..."

Crack

"What I want to understand is why. We've been together for almost a year! I love you with all my heart, but I guess you don't love me the same. Am I just not good enough? I know i'm not a regular like you but i'm still good at volleyball."

I took a step back.

Crack

"Chikara, what are you doing?"

"What do you think i'm doing?"

I took another step back.

Crack

"Chikara, please don't do anything rash."

"Don't call me that!"

He jumped back in surprise. I had never yelled at him when we were together.

Crack

"Now, I hope you enjoy your new girlfriend."

I took another step back.

No more cliff.

I felt the air rush around me as I fell.

It felt nice.

I felt free.

"CHIKARA!"

I saw a bald head look over the cliff.

It was to late.

Ah yes,  365 words of angst. I'm feeling kinds sad as i'm writing this so that's where this one-shot came from.
