Bixing was a poor young man in the rural areas who grew up in a poor galaxy, who always wanted to go and visit the foreign-sounding Alliance, but because of a variety of reasons, the Alliance broke up before his arrival. However, he had the impression that despite its problems, boasting and whitewashing all day long, it was, in the end, a rich place where most people could live their lives without worry.

He did not expect that underneath Eden's facade, things have become unpredictably bewildering, and the roots have already rotten to the core.

No wonder a single poke could topple it.

"Before the retirement of Heavy Mech No.3, it was the key control of the Military Commission of the Alliance. How did it flow out of the Alliance? I don't know. After all, it was 100 years ago that the commission produced the last batch of it."

"So..." Bixing Lu hesitated. "The Alliance was swept away by the interstellar pirates, not because of the military's incompetence, nor because of the incompetence of the government? Damn ...... you people can live well, why make such a mess of things, and how much discontent can Eden not appease?"

"As far as I know, among the CMC and even some members of the management committee, there are not a few who block most of the functions of Eden on a daily basis, but the main ideology is there," Jingheng Lin said. "They all show their love for Eden and do not publicize it to the outside world."

Bixing thought with a frown. "But I heard that Admiral Wolfe was still in charge of the Commission, and if the pirates haven't completely taken over the world by now, does that prove..."

"Prove his innocence?" Jingheng gave him a calm look. "It may not be, or it may be, that he shares the spoils unequally with the pirates, or that his allies are not the pirates who occupied Wotto."

Jingheng usually spoke sharp and unkind words most of the times, almost all the people he knew have been insulted by him, but Bixing Lu found that even if all those sarcastic irony were put together, it would not be as piercing as a few 'to be frank', he could not help but ask: "Did you ever really trusted him?"

Jingheng did not answer.

He was not god, he didn't know.

Admiral Wolfe, one of the founding fathers of the League, the first President of the Black Orchid Academy, and still a representative of the Honorary Board of Trustees, cared for him before he was adopted by Lu Xin and promoted him as an adult.

An Admiral who devoted all his life to the League.

If you couldn't trust someone like that, what's the meaning of the Alliance's Declaration of Liberty?

A collective delusion of "the world is full of love"?

Jingheng knew he had little time left, so he explained as clearly and briefly as possible: "A few months ago, I encountered a rainbow virus from an alien source, comprehensive antibody was effective against it. This shows that Prince Cayley's guard did not have the variant rainbow virus, or they would've used it. I guess Ares Von didn't even know about the Nuwa Plan on planet Emma."

The Anti-Utopia Group would have been blatantly opposed to human experimentation and unnatural grafting, which explain why Ares Von had to stay in a body like that, and if he'd known that the AUG hypocrites were doing those things in secret, the mad Prince might have killed them off himself.

Bixing hesitantly nodded, feeling something was wrong -- not that what Jingheng said was wrong, but Jingheng had always been a jerk who would say "just obey, I don't fucking care if you understand". When had he become so patient to detail out his idea?

"The people who developed the Rainbow Virus in the Eight Galaxy used to cultivate pets as a cover, and the biggest market of the special pets was in other galaxies of the alliance ... It seems that Nuwa's sponsors are more likely to come from the Alliance than from outside. There are more than one group of interstellar pirates, each has their own advantages, and there is probably more than one Alliance traitor. The latter is far more to be feared."

"Why is he talking to me like this?" Bixing thought as his anxiety grew stronger.

Taking a deep look at Bixing, Jingheng communicated directly and silently with Zhanlu in the mental network: "What is his heart rate and temperature now?"

"The heart rate is going up a little bit, probably because of emotional fluctuations," Zhanlu replied. "The temperature is normal."

Jingheng secretly let out the breath he's holding in.

As a former professional soldier, his physical quality was much stronger than ordinary people. When Prince Cayley bombed Beijing, they lost the medicine package when they fled depot; Jingheng accepted suture surgery without anti-inflammatory drugs and narcotics. Except for a slight fever and discomfort after a day or two, there was almost no reaction. Though he was not cherishing himself, but after all, he was built up by the league's most sophisticated training schedule, he had the most stringent health management, and had all kinds of strange antibody injections. His immune system was like a bunker, it has not known what a flu was in decades.
