(A/N: I've posted this story's German version before, but I really wanted to translate it in order to improve my English writing skills. There are also some minor changes in terms of writing. I just wanted to add some things or change the atmosphere a bit. With that said - please enjoy!)
~ P. o. V. Marco ~
Opening my eyes was a rather hard process, mainly because this loud ringtone kept bothering me. I - now slightly annoyed and still half asleep - looked for my phone. My gaze fell on the screen and a light sigh left my mouth before I could hear three cheerful voices which belong to my closest friends.
"Marco? Where have you been? We wanted to meet at the bus stop. Even Eren remembered. The trip's starting in one hour," Jean explained with an obvious tint of excitement in his voice, while I was raising my eyebrows in confusion and tried to remember what we wanted to do today. It's embarrassing to admit this, but I had to think about it for a few seconds. I guess one half my brain was still fast asleep.
Suddenly it hit me, "Oh god, how could I forget that! Our camping trip is starting today, isn't it? Oh god! I've just woken up a few min-" "What? Hurry! That's typical," Jean cut me off, which made me sigh again. "I'll meet you at the bus stop," I mumbled und ended the call. I got up and tried getting dressed and ready as quickly as possible. Luckily, I had packed my stuff a few days ago. Damn, how could I forget this trip? I was actually quite excited when I first heard of it.
When I arrived, Jean, Eren and Armin had already been waiting for me. They seemed to have a rather interesting conversation with other people our age - probably other friends of theirs. I didn't want to interrupt them and that's why I decided to quietly - or awkwardly - stand next to them and wait until they noticed me.
Jean was the first to greet me. "You actually managed to arrive on time," he said as his thin, pale lips formed a rather cat-like grin. Soon after, the other two noticed me. I wanted to ask them if we could stay in a tent together, but the bus doors opened and we were almost pushed inside by the other children and juveniles before I could do that. Luckily, we managed to get four comfortable seats in the back of the bus.
The next two hours went by surprisingly quickly. Shortly before our arrival I noticed that Eren must have fallen asleep. His head rested against Armin's - now slightly rosy - cheeks. Armins eyes widened a but when he noticed my gaze.
I've known about his feelings for Eren for a long time and chuckled innerly at this sight. "They are quite cute together, aren't they?" I thought, while the first ones were getting up and leaving the bus.
"This is going to be exciting," I chanted happily and left the bus.
