My right femur brushed against the cool stone before I fully touched the ground. I cry in pain and sit there. I can't move, I'm too scared. I begin to cry as the pain gets to me. I try to push the tombstone off of me, only to fail. I close my eyes while hugging myself, I'm freezing. I'm in so much pain. I slow my cries and open my eyes. I take deep breaths and look down. My leg is smashed between the grass and the tombstone. I can't help but scream.
"Mommy! Daddy! Please help me! I need help!" I continue crying until I have no tears left. I close my eyes, slowly drifting into sleep. I hear a new sound. I stay the way I am though, too tired to open my eyes. The pain seemed to disappear the closer to sleep I got.
"Jessica?" I open my eyes I saw my twelve year old sister Stephanie look at me. Her eyes are huge and she's shaking so bad. She sprints away to the clothesline and I hear murmurs. She comes back and she looks hesitant as she scans the tombstone. She lifted the 300 pound tombstone off my snapped femur. She picks me up carefully, not knowing how to hold me. She walks over to the wires and hesitates. I put my head on her shoulder.
"Stephie, it hurts. This isn't a joke, please help me. I need help, please. Please, I promise you it hurts so bad. Please help me." I cry as I talk to her. She sets me down on the top wire carefully and holds me there. It took a little time as she had to hold me while she gets under the wire, but she got to the other side. She picks me up again goes over to my mom. Mommy. She turns towards us and her smile fades quickly, her expression drained from her.
"Oh my god!" She screams as runs over and grabs me like I'm going to shatter from the slightest touch. Mommy runs inside and yells. "Jeff wake up Jessica broke her leg!" He jumped out of bed and put his shoes on as fast as he could as he grabs me from my mom. He carefully hurried to the truck and set me in the passenger seat, putting on my seat belt. He lifted my leg up slightly and propped it up by the windshield as my mom set ice to let my leg relax. Everyone looked at me and I saw Jennifer crying as I close my eyes again.
Dad shakes me a little and tells me to stay awake. I opened my eyes sleepily and see Jennifer curled up with my siblings, everyone shocked. Mom was running with Stephanie with so much ice. They finish with the ice and close the door, and fall by each others sides, hugging one another, crying as they rush to the van. My dad drives fast, hitting a few painful bumps making me cry in pain. He slows a little, but still rushing. He keeps talking to me and telling me to keep my eyes open. Eventually, I see the Jasper County Hospital and Daddy goes to my door, picking me up. We rush in the Emergency Room to get me help. They set me on a bed and rush my into a room, not letting Daddy come. That's when everything went black.
