Adi~

Two in the morning. Fuck. I sighed stretching out, curling my toes and making fists with my hands. It's been a week since lacrosse season started. My muscles ached and yet I couldn't help but smile at the thought of tonight's practice.

I got out of bed groggily, my eyes barely open to the small amount of traffic light coming through my bedroom window. Had I left that open? I frowned at myself knowing the dangers that could lurk in this god forsaken city.

Pulling out black skinny jeans and a loose fitting V-neck, I struggled to put the jeans on doing squats and jumping around to get the tight body fitting pants on. Just as I managed to pull the zipper up a knock came on the door. I looked at the small clock on my bedside table, 2:35am.

Who would be knocking at this time? A killer? Just my luck. I made my way silently to the front door not daring to make even the slightest of a sound. I gulped remembering my window is open and peaked through the peephole, a girl with platinum blonde hair and braids that wove through small parts, had dirt strewn on her clothes as she stood before the door.

I slowly opened it fearing why she looked like this and wondered if she was in need of help.

"It all happened so fast, I don't know what to do please help, please.. I was on my way home and I wasn't paying atten-" i shushed her rambling, leading her to my bathroom and running some warm water for her to wipe her face and calm her nerves.

She explained how she had been driving and checked her phone only to feel a small bump half a second later in front of her car. I shivered at the mention of accident but pushed myself to listen on. Telling her to stay put I grabbed a jacket and headed outside closing my door carefully behind me.

I saw at the road what she had ran over- a cat. I sighed sadly and thanked God that it was nothing compared to what I had expected to find, frowning as I got to her car I got in and making sure not to run over the innocent creature again, pulled into my driveway.

I headed back to the cat with a shoebox found in my garbage can outside and a shovel, then slowly placed the cat inside as I went to dig a proper burial place.

Covering the final area with flowers from around the garden I sighed once more and went back inside only to find the blonde asleep on my couch. Grabbing a throw blanket I placed it over her frail body and noticed the bags under her eyes, rough night for everyone I suppose.

I sat opposite to her flicking through endless TV channels and watching the time tick by waiting for six to come by. School- my personal hell was waiting to open its fiery gates and make my brain collapse in its wake.

Finally it was six. Slipping on my vans I decided to write a note knowing I had nothing expensive in my home, I didn't even bother to lock my door when I left knowing she'd only unlock it later anyway.

On my walk to school I noticed the birds chirping less today and the sky a dark grey with clouds covering every inch, passing the bakery I saw a group of teens chattering about some new club they went to the night before, typical.

As I arrived I went straight to my gym locker grabbing my lacrosse stick and heading to my first free period that most seniors had, I decided to spend it at the field making practice shots on goal for the majority of my time not noticing the other person with me until the block was over.

The oh so popular Zayn Malik was running the "octet" as we like to call it through the fields having a morning work out in a muscle tee and loose fitting Brine shorts.

I licked my dry lips and squinted my eyes through the brightness of the sun as I made my way to second block ignoring his stares as I walked away.

I inhaled and smiled to myself, art class. The only savior for these boring days.
