"Hurry up, Ted!" twelve-year-old Saphron Dolohov yelled to her younger brother.

Ted was eleven, and was just starting his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. "Coming! I've just got to.." Saphron heard a crash from Ted's bedroom. "Ouch! Bad Hamilton!" Saphron's hair turned a cool blue as she grinned, watching her brother hold his trunk in one hand and struggle with his pet owl, Hamilton, in the other. Saphron and Ted were Muggle-born, but that did not stop them from being Metamorphmaguses (being able to change their appearance at will). Ted's usually violet hair turned an angry red. "Stupid owl," Ted murmured.

Saphron was going into her third year at Hogwarts. Saphron had always been the bright and organized daughter. Her brother on the other hand, was a bit of a jokster, and a huge troublemaker. The previous year, Saphron was Sorted into Gryffindor. She was particularly close with two fellow Gryffindors, Farren Scamander and Ray Weasley. Farren was a bit odd, had a strange ability in Care of Magical Creatures, and she had a love for everything extra. Ray was very much like his father, Ron Weasley. He was the youngest out of his siblings and he always got the second hand supplies. Ray had a love for wizarding candy and he did not enjoy exams or homework unlike Saphron.

Soon, they arrived at Kings Cross Station and had vanished through the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Right after, Ted and Saphron found an empty compartment. As soon as the clock struck eleven o'clock, the engine roared to life and the train began to inch away from their parents. As the Hogwarts Express began to move, Ray and Farren walked into the compartment. Farren looking rather more extra than usual. She had multiple bangle bracelets on both wrists, and perched on her head was a pair of rainbow sunglasses. On her collar she had hooked another pair of sunglasses, and her crooked neck tie was sporting a rabbit gemstone pin, representing her Patronus. On top of all of this, she wore a small gold chain, with another pair of sunglasses, but this time it was only a charm. Her shoulder length wavy hair was pinned back with two hairclips; one was a butterfly, and Saphron couldn't quite make out the other, and lastly, she had a pair of earrings with cabbage heads on them. Farren was smiling broadly, while holding her copy of the latest edition of The Quibbler, which had a rather odd bookmark, one she had likely designed herself. Ray was wearing second handed robes and held his toad, Peter and had blazing red hair like his entire family except his mum [Hermione Granger].

At quarter-past eleven, a plump elderly woman approached them and asked sweetly, "Anything off the trolley, dears?" "Yes, please!" Ted blurted out impatiently. "Ouchies," Farren said quietly; in his rush to get to the trolley, Ted had trodden on her foot. Saphron gave her brother a rather reproachful look and said, "Apologize to Farren right now." "Er, sorry," Ted mumbled. "It's okay," Farren replied in a dreamy voice.

Ted quickly returned to the trolley. "One pack of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans! And some Chocolate frogs! Ooh, pumpkin pasties! And licorice wands? Do you have some butterbeer? Or butterbeer ice cream? Peppermint Toads? Fizzing Whizbees? Pumpkin Cake? Exploding Bon Bons? Sugar Quills? Chocolate Cauldrons?" Saphron, Ray, and Farren giggled as Ted rambled on about every single Wizarding sweet known to man. About fifteen minutes later, Ted finally ended with "How about Acid Pops?"

The elderly woman looked like she had been watching a pinwheel spin for hours. "Umm...Why don't you take the lot?" she finally suggested. "Okay!" Ted replied, more thrilled than ever. Ted carried every Wizarding treat he could fit in his wiener dog arms. After Ted had devoured every treat he could get his hands on, he noticed something quite odd. "Farren, what's up with your necklace?" he asked curiously.

Farren's necklaces were always odd, once she had shown up at a Quidditch match with a cork necklace around her neck, but this time her necklace didn't look designed at all. It was a golden triangle with a circle the middle and a line going through both shapes. "It's a charm, actually! It's been passed on in the Lovegood family for centuries now!" Farren said dreamily. "Oh?" Ted replied, a bit befuddled because of her ghostly voice. " I recognize it!" Saphron whispered loudly.

"You do?" asked Ray in disgust.

"Yeah! I read about it! It's the sign of the Deathly Hallows! It's in this book!"she said holding up a book called History of Grindelwald .

"The what?" Ted and Ray asked together.

"The Deathly Hallows is a sign that is known as a dark wizard's mark, Grindelwald, the triangle stands for The Cloak of Invisibility, the line stands for The Elder Wand, and the circle stands for The Resurrection Stone." Saphron recited without a single mistake. "Nice job." Farren said in her usual voice. "Well, well," a nasty voice said. Everybody jumped up in surprise and a face popped into the compartment.

It was Thomas Goyle and Blaire Zabini. They were both purebloods and Slytherins. Blaire had taken a particular liking to bully Saphron, Ray, and Farren. Blaire had jet black hair and had plenty of house pride. She would puff out her chest and look extremely proud to be a Slytherin when anybody but her fellow Slytherins passed her. "Filthy, dirty Mudbloods everywhere!" Blaire said with a sneer, and Goyle gave a big smirk. Saphron's hand was shaking in anger so much that she dropped her book. Saphron stood up and her usual midnight blue hair turned a fiery and blazing red as she gave them a burning look. "Ooh, she's mad!" Blaire said. As the trio glowered, Blaire and Goyle left the compartment cackling.

"Foul gits!" Farren said in a angry but still dreamy voice, which Saphron thought was very unusual

"Foul gits!" Farren said in a angry but still dreamy voice, which Saphron thought was very unusual. "Oh my!" she suddenly said enthusiastically. "He's lovely!" Farren said to Ted who had just realized she was talking about Hamilton. "Lovely? Lovely? First, he's a coward, second he's a big good-for-nothing brat!" Ted replied angrily. Sure, Hamilton was a beautiful owl with a snowy look. However, when anyone would come a foot close to him, he would immediately peck them. But for Farren, Hamilton perched on her bangled wrist calmly and gave a small hoot. Saphron guessed this was because Care for Magical Creatures was not only Farren's favorite subject, but she was also the best in their year. For the rest of the ride, Saphron read Farren's copy of The Quibbler, Ray was eating candy with Ted, and Farren and Hamilton were BFFs, and Ted wasn't too happy about it.
