the pair are out of the door in a flash. walking down the pavement, kai is still confused as to where they're heading.

"can you at least tell me where you're taking me hostage to?" he asks nora, tired of walking even if it's been less than thirty seconds.

"do you want to know that bad?" she responds all excited.

"yes, because i don't know why you made me get into casual stuff."

the girl huffs annoyed at her brother as she begins to explain the place they're going to.

"you've heard of the boarding house, right?" she asks him.

"no idea what you're going on about, nora."

"well anyway, there's the salvatore boarding house here in mystic falls. the brothers who own it are meant to throw crazy parties."

"ok and?"

"there's one starting just about now that i'm taking you to."

"oh for fuck sake, nora. i hate parties." kai says beginning to walk in a huff.

"not according to the party we went to where you and malia were dancing with college guys while having vodka shots last year." she says turning around with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face.

"a lot of things can change in a year, nora. why are we even going? you want to, i don't." he says going back to normal walking.

"because you have done nothing except walk around the new house like a lost puppy. it's time you make a friend or something. so that's why i am willingly taking you to the party." nora responds continuing her walk.

"ugh fine, i'll go. but only because they might have vodka shots... it's not five o'clock anywhere but i don't care much." kai responds persuaded, and nora smiles.

"good, because i'd say we're round the corner from the boarding house anyway, hurry up." she says giving him a follow me signal.

kai picks up some speed and eventually catches up to his sister. as he gets her, they are able to see the famous boarding house.

"ok, it's nicer than i was thinking." kai says staring at it while nora goes up to the door.

"what did i tell you?" nora says delighted.

they walk in the house and are approached by a girl who looks about seventeen, with dark brown hair.

"hey! welcome to the party. i'm elena." the girl says shaking nora and kai's hands.

"elena gilbert?" kai asks surprised.

"kai!" nora shouts standing on her brother's foot, he lets out a yelp.

"sorry, i'm nora magalone and this is my brother kai. we're new to town." nora says to elena in embarrassment.

"ah well, welcome to mystic falls! you're gonna love it." elena says with a smile.

"you guys want a drink?" elena asks the pair.

they both nod and she directs them to the bar. they squeeze past many dancing teens to get to where they're trying to reach.

"and also, i am elena gilbert. well-known for some drama so i'm not surprised if you've heard of me." elena whispers to kai as they're moving past dancers.

"i've only heard good things, so you're in the clear." he responds and they laugh.

after what feels like a long time of pushing past teens, they've reached the bar.

"here it is! they're all free but this one's on the house." elena says.

she pours herself, kai and nora three glasses of gin and tonic.

"whatever you're pouring, add a fourth." a blonde girl says approaching the three.

"oh fine. kai, nora, this is my close friend, caroline forbes." elena says introducing the blonde girl to the siblings.

"caroline forbes, professional cheerleader at your service. no pictures please." caroline says introducing herself to kai and nora making them both laugh, along with elena.

"i'm kai magalone, and this is my adopted sister nora." kai says to caroline, earning a slap across the face from nora.

"bitch. pleasure, caroline. i'm nora and this is a circus clown i found lying beside carol lockwood's dumpster." nora says to caroline making the whole group (even kai) laugh.

"i see you two have quite the humour. looks like i have to hand over my crown after all." caroline responds.

"i always knew you'd have to retire someday... but until then, drink up." elena says giving out the gin and tonics.

kai, nora, elena and caroline all raise their glasses and drink.

"whew, i haven't had one of these since christmas." kai says.

"hey, where's bonnie? isn't she with you?" elena asks caroline.

"she was, but she's went to help stefan get the wine out the cellar. he says it'll go quick so we have to be prepared." caroline responds.

"you guys will have to meet bonnie today, she's an amazing person to be around." elena says to kai and nora drinking their gins.

"she sounds really nice, even though i know little about her." nora says.

"oh, she is. call her a lifesaver to be honest." caroline says.

"period. now are we gonna hit the dancefloor and get wasted?" elena says.

"the dancefloor is what we call the living room but that's different tonight." caroline answers.

"chile, lemme go request so much music. kai, you'll be fine here right?" nora says.

"just make sure they have rihanna at least." he responds.

"i handpicked all the artists and i can confirm we do have her." caroline says to kai.

"you can never have a good party without miss mystic falls being a part of it somehow." elena says making her friend smile.

"well i am taking our picture when i return because i have been dying to meet you, caroline." nora responds as she runs up to the dj.

"oh she's actually following along with her bucket list. good for nora." kai says.

"meeting me was on her bucket list?" caroline asks him.

"along with meet a salvatore, and find a supernatural creature."

"i don't think she'll have much luck with supernatural, but perhaps a nice fluffy dog." elena responds, subtlety throwing kai off the supernatural path and giving the three something to laugh about.

"well there might be some on the dancefloor. and if not, then we can still have fun on it." kai responds as elena and caroline follow along.

hi so i apologise for not continuing with their dance but i WILL next so i have school tomorrow and that'll probably mean less updates so i will keep trying but anyways try and survive ok??? ok xx
