Bradley and I doing stupid shit all weekend. Mom and Dad weren't fighting when I woke up Monday, and it's just a wonderful day.
We're sitting at lunch.
By we I mean Bradley, Daniel, Madison and I.
"Are you guys going to homecoming?" Madison asks.
"They haven't even mentioned homecoming." I laugh.
"If we are you're my date." Bradley says, nudging my shoulder.
"I know. I am every year because your too much of a loner to get a girlfriend." I smirk.
"That's not true. The girl I want is just complicated. I'm waiting for the right moment."
"What?" I gasp. "You bastard! You never told me you had a crush on someone!" Who is it?"
I cut off to my phone vibrating in my pocket.
I'm getting a phone call...
Who's calling me? Everyone knows I'm at school.
I pull my phone from my back pocket.
Noah.
What the hell?
I look around and press answer.
"You know I'm at-"
"You need to come home."
He's crying. My eyebrows crease in concern.
"Why? What happened? What's wrong?"
"Come home."
"I can't. I don't skip school. I-"
"Emma," It's Dad now. "You need to come home."
"You're giving me permission to leave school?" I laugh nervously. "Why?" all signs of joke leave my face. I'm scared. "I don't want to. Dad, I'm scared what I'll find."
"Let me talk to Bradley." Dad says.
"Daddy-"
"Now."
Sighing, I hand my phone to Bradley.
BRADLEY'S POV
"Hello?" I ask.
"Hey Bradley, listen, some stuff just went down that's really going to impact Emma for the rest of her life. I realy need you to be there fir her. I called your Mom. She said you can go home. Just...just be ready."
"Okay..." I trail off. "How-
"How bad?" he asks. "Bad." He sighs. "Just go home and make sure Emma does too."
EMMA'S POV
Bradley hangs up the phone.
"We need to go."
"No." I'm really scared. What if something happened with my parents? The fighting? Divorce...
"Please." He says. "We need to."
He pulls me up and walks me out the door to my car.
"I'm scared." I whisper.
He cups my cheeks. "It's going to be okay."
"Pease come with me."
"I can't. I'll be home." He kisses my forehead.
He waits until my car is out of sight to get in his.
I drive home.
Mom's car is gone.
I park and get out.
