Bradley is at school online so I don't see him nearly as often as I'd like.
Luckily, I have Bailee.
We had a substitute yesterday in Mr. Jones's room and he had the sub give us fifty questions on Romeo and Juliet.
I did them anyways.
I'm completely prepared for an argument.
Bailee is literally my best friend. She knows I'm going to fight with Mr. Jones today because I was bitching about him all day yesterday.
I walk into the class, pissed as ever. Everyone knows I'm going to fight him too, because I ranted here as well. I'm fifteen minutes late because I went to the bathroom and then I got two sodas from the vending machine.
"Nice for you to finally show up." Mr. Jones says.
"Fuck you." I grumble.
"Why are you in a mood?" he asks.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm lacking sleep, because someone skipped school yesterday and gave us fifty homework questions!"
I look at the board and see fifty more questions, but this time, it's on To Kill a Mockingbird.
It's a week before exams.
"Don't worry. They're not graded."
"Oh shit." Bailee says.
"Are you fucking kidding?" I ask. "You're grading them."
"No I'm not. It's for the exa-"
"The exam?" I snap. "Why don't you give us a fucking study guide? Fuck you!" I grab the eraser and erase the whole homework board.
"Emma!" he snaps.
"I can't believe you gave us so much homework!" I snap. "And you aren't even grading it." I roll my eyes. He has the grade book open. I pencil in an A for me.
"I'm seriously going to give you detention." He says.
"Go the fuck ahead! I don't care!" I yell at him.
To be honest, I've been really depressed without Bradley here and I'm in a bad mood a lot. A lot of people give me sympathy.
"Emma." Bailee says. I look at her. "Don't give her detention. She's going through a lot of thing right now."
"I'm going to starbucks." I mutter.
"What?" Mr. Jones asks. I grab a pass and write that I can go to my car, and then I forge his signature.
"I'll be back."
People start handing me money and their orders.
He opens his mouth to threaten me, but I just grab my keys and wallet and walk out the door.
I go down the hall, flashing my pass to the teacher that's about to yell at me, and then I go outside to my car. I get in and drive away. I go right to Starbucks and I get one for me, one for Bailee, one for Mr. Jones and one for Bradley. I swing by his house and walk in. he's asleep on the couch. I sit down next to him and run my fingers through his hair.
"Baby, wake up." I say. I shake him gently. He slowly opens his eyes, and then looks at the time, frowning.
"Are you skipping?"
"I had a pass." I say.
"Jones?" he asks.
"Yup." I nod. I hand him his drink and give him a kiss. "I'll be back after school. I love you."
