Chapter 18

Courtney's POV

It was finally here. Geoff and Bridgette's party. I couldn't lie I was a tad bit excited to know the gender myself. Anyway there wasn't going to be a lot of people there, but I still wanted to look decent.
And yes I asked Bridgette the question, that question: Was he coming?

She assured me that Geoff had tried reaching him many times before he actually responded saying he was busy and wouldn't be able to come, excusing himself. Apparently according to Geoff and Bridgette, Duncan was busy even for Geoff's parties which was kind of weird. I didn't really think much of it as the only thing that was interesting to me was the fact that he was not attending the event.
I decided to wear a pair of jeans with one of my fluffy beige sweater. Their party was going to take place in the small backyard of their house and it was around the second half of the month of October and at around 7pm
so I didn't want to get cold. I wore my hair in a low ponytail to the side and wore just a bit of makeup. I looked simple but well put together.

I heard a knock on my door and opened it to see a smiling Charles holding his gift he bought yesterday in his hand. He was also wearing a pair of jeans which were black paired with a brown shirt and jacket.

I kissed Vina good bye and made sure to remind the babysitter to call if anything's the matter, as I always do before leaving.
I took my gift and sat in the passenger seat in Charles' car.

"That sweater looks comfy, it's fluffy, you look like a teddy bear perfect for the occasion" he joked.

"Well ain't that convenient" I laughed "now let's go before we don't want to be late you know I'd hate that"

"Okay captain" he smiled as I laughed again in response.

We finally arrived and blue and pink balloons and other decorations were here to greet us everywhere. We made it through the backyard fence door when Bridgette ran to us giving me a hug.

"Court I am so happy you're here I am sooo excited!" She said as she fixed her maternity type of dress. Even that was in on the blue and pink theme in a tie dye way.

"Me too Bridge" I grinned at my best friend.

"Oh I am so sorry I got caught up in all that excitement and stuff, you must be Charles! Nice to meet you!" She said quickly eyeing Charles from head to toe. I knew I was going to hear a feedback later.

"Hi Bridgette, I am happy to be here thanks for having me, and congratulations" he said handing her the gift.

"Aww you didn't have to" Bridgette said receiving it "also you can call me Bridge if you want, Court's friends are my friends too; also do you mind if I open the gift like, right now?"

"No of course I don't mind" he smiled.

"Oh my God! It's baby beanies! They are so cute thank you, you didn't have to !" She hugged him.

I almost laughed as I saw he had gotten the beanie with a pacifier on it along with the one with cute bear ears, but I decided against laughing. I also forgot to get a matching bear beanie for Vina, I should do it sometime.

"I have a gift too!" I said handing it to her.

She immediately opened it and saw the onesie.
"I love it! Thanks Court! You're going to be a beautiful aunty just as I am one to Davina!" I smiled and nodded and we hugged.
