Some say the sky is the limit.
I don't think that's true.
The sky was leaden, almost like that of a dull canvas painted a ghostly, subdued ashen-as if in fear of something, as if the sky was capable of displaying emotions of it's own. Murky and dim, the cloud's that stretched across the gray sky.
Obviously, it was going to storm today, no one needed a weather forecast to tell that. However, I didn't mind it, the rain had always been a calming thing for me for as long as I could remember, and with the current situation I was in, I needed some moments of peace if I wanted to have at least a little bit of sanity remaining, yet I lost that a long time ago.
Today was generally a calmer day-there were no missions, for me anyway. Training was never a big deal, but once news had broke out about Soojin, I somehow managed to convince Momo to let me do it alone. It was a long, difficult process of me begging for her to take care of her own well-being, but nevertheless, it still worked. Earlier, I passed Soojin in the corridors. She seemed like the same cheerful, easygoing girl that we all loved, and it was hard knowing that it was probably just a facade she put up to gain our trust for all these years-afterall, who could remain happy after years in a life like ours?
Guilty until proven innocent.
As for Momo? She was far from, yet never let her genuine feelings surface. How could she be happy? The person she loved most was a traitor, and was eventually going to be face-to-face with death, not that I knew Seokjin or Taehyung's plans, though.
For all we knew, Soojin could have been faking her love for Momo, as well. Who knew what she was really was? However, what frightened me the most was what Momo would decide to let herself become-people did the most absurd things for the people they love. I would know. She had told me that she was conflicted, yet didn't elaborate, which lead me to wonder if she was considering leaving us for Soojin?
The sky is the limit.
There was no limit for this catastrophe.
I was searching for Jaehyun. Considering this was a calm day-although keeping in mind not to my guard down-I wanted to enjoy the company of someone I could fully trust, although he was typically busy working-probably why I couldn't get ahold of him. I walked down the hallway, determined to infiltrate his office, however firstly encountering Baekhyun who was leaning against the wall absentmindedly. He seemed dazed, and somewhat discomposed, which was hardly like him. I decided to figure out what was on his mind, but to more generously word it-help him decipher his mental puzzle, whatever it may have been.
"A penny for your thoughts?"
Baekhyun flinched momentarily, but subsequent to him turning his head my direction. He was dead silent, taking a moment to register my words, but once he does, he shook his head and stands up, gesturing me with his shoulder to follow. I tailed behind him, quietly waiting for him to talk in anticipation.
