Ok so above is the girl I chose to play Jack her name is Carlson Young from the new MTV show Scream. I swear this is the last time I'm changing who plays Jack, I just couldn't find the right person to match the image in my head. Miniature Tigers- The WolfRide Home
Of The Mountains- Dan DeaconI listened to my cousin blabbing to me though the phone about how image is everything and I need to look nice for my first day of school, though I wasn't really listening. My foot tapped along to 'Gold on the Ceiling' by The Black Keys played from my speakers. I was driving down a road lined with tall trees, it was dark and foggy. All I could see was the bright red tail lights of the car in front of me. Darkness never scared me, but while driving, it was a constant terror. Never knowing what could be lurking out there, waiting to pounce at any chance. I have the immense displeasure of knowing the horrors that haunt the emptiness.
"I refuse to let my cousin let her beauty go to waste and walk into that school looking like a travesty. So, either you wear what I pick for you or I cut up all of your books and take away your Marvel collection." Lydia commanded sternly, I gasped, I couldn't live without Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.
"You wouldn't." I spoke wearily calling her bluff, there was a pause, and I realized she wasn't bluffing, I thought for a moment before I spoke again "How about a compromise I'll wear a cute pair of shorts and you pick the top." I suggested. There was yet another long pause as Lydia considered my offer. I could imagine her sitting on her bed twirling a strand of hair and staring at nothing. Probably the false ditsy look that had become a natural default that came with her new dumb blonde, well, strawberry blonde, routine.
"Deal." She said with a slight titter at the end.
Pat pat pat
I heard the light beat of drops hitting my windshield, then all at once, rain covered my windshield.
"Hey Liddy I have to go, it's starting to rain." I told her while flipping on the wipers to high.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." She said before there was a click and the line was dead. I looked down and set my phone in the cup holder. That was a mistake because there was a sudden shrill screeching sound from the car in front of me. My head shot up to see the car swerving around a dark figure of a man stood in the middle of the road.
Faster than I thought humanly possible my foot was on the break and the car came to a jerky halt stopping right in front of the figure who fell backwards. Letting out a small shriek I put the car in park and jumped out, running to the mans side. But when I got a closer look I noticed it wasn't a man, but a boy around my age with dark shaggy hair, tan skin, and an uneven jaw. His eyes were wide with fear and he was breathing heavily, probably from the minor heart attack I had just given him.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, did I hit you!?" I questioned frantically, scanning his body up and down for any damage. My eyes stopped and widened at something that made my stomach churn. The boys jumper had slightly ridden up revealing what looked to be a bite mark, blood oozing out of it. Please don't tell me that is what I think it is.
"No, I'm good just have to calm down." He groaned sitting up slowly.
"Did I hit you?" I asked ignoring the bite and examining the rest of his body.
"No, I just tripped." He said standing and brushing his hands off on his already dirty jeans. My brown-blonde hair was now sticking to the sides of my face and all down my back. My plain shirt also sticking to me making me uncomfortable.
"What are you doing out here?" I asked him blinking the water out of my eyes and rubbing my hands up and down arms. It's 1 am and we're in the middle of the cold dark woods.
"Just-uh going for a jog?" He said it like it was a question to himself rather than a statement. Jogging? In jeans, yeah I think not, so what was he really doing. What was it that I had heard about earlier today, didn't they find a dead body or something? Maybe he was trying to be a baby Sherlock? Putting aside the thought I looked at him keenly, trying to be as friendly as possible.
"Right then, Mr. Midnight Jogger, would you like a ride I would feel terrible for leaving you out in the rain after almost hitting you with my car." I said with a small smirk. "Come on." I walked to the drivers side without waiting for a response. I turned around and watched as the boy slowly walked to the passengers side staring at me wearily as if to see if I was joking.
"Just get in the car." I told him stepping into the car and clicking the seat belt into place, the boy following in suit.
"Scott." The boy said cutting through the silence that had settled over the car ride.
"Jack." I replied sweetly giving him a quick glance. His eyes had narrowed at my proclamation seeming confused.
"I didn't know that was a unisex name."
"It's not, it's just a nickname." I told him not taking my eyes off the road. The bite obviously being of a werewolf, I need to keep my eyes open in case of a possible attack.
"Oh, nice." He said followed by a long conversation about random topics while he gave me directions to his house. "So, how long have you been in Beacon Hills?" He asked continuing the conversation.
"Just moved from London about three weeks ago."
"How are you liking it?" He asked shifting uncomfortably in his seat and pointing for me to turn onto the next street. The bite must hurt dreadfully.
"It's pretty good, lucky me I have my cousin to show me around. Hey, do you by chance go to Beacon Hills high school?" I questioned as the thought popped into my head. It would be nice to have someone besides Lydia and Jackson as friends on my first day. Also I think he might need my help with his little bite situation.
"Yeah. Stop here." He said nodding his head at the house to our left. Following his command I pulled over in front of the two-story grey wood house. "Well thanks again for the ride, and I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Yeah, I'll be sure to look for you." I said giving him a bright smile, he returned the gesture and went inside his home.
Maybe this place won't be so bad after all..
Ok so here's the prologue. I promise the rest of the chapters won't be so short and sucky.
