After one of the best summers of my whole life, it was time to go back to routine. I was starting my university life at Manchester and I was already home-sick missing my family on the first day. I was from a small town in Wales, but I've been living with my dad's family in Barcelona for the past five years and I already missed him and my step-brothers as I've been travelling around the whole summer and only saw them a few days. I had been travelling from Europe to India, to Thailand and last, Australia. I had such an amazing time and met amazing people and friends who I also missed so much and didn't knew if I was going to see them again. I'd have never met that much people if it wasn't due to my friend from Wales, Ashton. He had been living there apparently for almost 2 years and already had that Australian vibe and accent that everyone had around, and I loved. He was so nice to me since I arrived even if I hadn't seen him for ages, and introduced me to his friends who were incredibly nice and lovely to me since the first day. I missed Ashton and seeing him this summer made me remember how close we were when we where kids. We used to play together everyday and stay in each other's houses to spend the night sometimes. When my parents got divorced, our families lost contact and it wasn't the same. The he moved to Australia and I didn't see him again 'til this summer.
I woke up and looked at all the boxes from the moving that were surrounding me in my new flat. It was a tiny flat, to be honest, but it was perfect for me. A little space for a student and comfy enough to be here for my whole uni experience. Mum decided to buy me this place as she didn't want me to be living in the university dorms with "crazy and hormonal teenagers who only look for getting inside your pants" as she said. I haven't seen her since I moved to Barcelona but we kept in contact and she usually bought me lots of stuff to have an easy life here as she knew that my father was always busy working and she could afford to buy me anything, as she was director of an important newspaper there in Wales and had a successful business. I decided to wear a black dress with a cream cardigan and some black boots. I took my bag and took a notebook and a pen to put in it for my first day. I pulled my hair up in a messy bun and added a scarf to my neck after applying some make-up to my horrible morning face. I took my keys and went to university which wasn't too far away from the flat. When I arrived to my class, everyone was there trying to meet new people. I sat in the last row and left my things on the table as I took out my phone to talk with my friends. A girl came to me and started talking, she was nice and cute and I immediately knew we were going to be good friends. When the professor came, I went to my seat and the girl, Jess, went back to hers. He was introducing himself and explaining the subject when the guy I had in front of me turned around and left me speechless.
-Could you give me some paper to take notes...OH MY FUCKING GOD IVY!-he said amused. I was shocked.
-Ashton what are you doing here for fucks sake!- I said trying not to shout in the middle of the class.
-I will explain later, if you wanna join me for lunch... maybe?-he said smiling. He had a different style from back in Australia. He was wearing rounded glasses and his hair fell to his face curlier than before. He was wearing a olive green flannel with a grey tank top underneath and he looked incredibly handsome. When he was in Australia he used to wear basic tees and bandanas on his head, with those black skinny's he still wears. Now he looked smarter and hotter, to be honest. I gave him a paper and he turned around to keep listening to the professor.
Once we were out of the class, I decided to go with him out for some lunch and we went into a chinese take-away.
-Now.. explain-I said
-Dad wanted me to get a degree and move back home because she said that I was doing nothing back in Australia, so I told her I wanted to come to Manchester's uni.
-Did you came here because I was coming?
-No! I didn't even know! I came here because it's a nice uni and it also has amazing frat parties, my friend Bruce lives here and he says nightlife here is amazing. Also, if you are here it is even better and we are in the same class!-he giggled.
-Yeah, it is amazing, isn't it? I didn't knew you liked literature
-I do, apart from music, literature is for me like an art, and I love it. So do you, right?
-Yepp.
-Soooo, Ivy Rose Turner... I missed you so damn much and I need one of those film nights we had in summer.
-Ashton-I giggled.- We need to study and rest, my flat is a whole chaos right now and I don't even have the tv placed yet.
-Well, lucky lady... I have the rest of the day free and I can help you with that flat if you want to, I help and you give me films, popcorn and cuddles, right?
-Oooookay, idiot- I said laughing as he wiked his eye and continued having lunch. Oh god, I missed him.
