⚠️⚠️WARNING Violence, Death and Gore WARNING ⚠️⚠️
1 month later ------------------------------------
Syala's eyes flutter open as she looks around, seeing as others are still sleeping.
Syala got up from her bunk and looked outside of the makeshift window in the barracks, seeing as the sun hasn't risen yet. Syala realized that she had about 5-6 hours to sleep... or do early work.
Syala knew if she did work that was meant to be done, early.. she could have the rest of the day to sleep or social with the elders. Syala sighed and decided to do so.
Walking out of the barracks, she heard whispering which made her stop in her tracks. She peered over to see a group of 4 boys talking by their bunks, shrugging it off as she walked out of barracks.
She closed the door behind her only to be stopped by the night shift slavers, holding their whips in hand. She knew that they let more things slide then the day shift.
"What are you doing out of the barracks? Trying to escape?" One of the guards asked, standing at his full height in front of Syala.
"I was planning on doing some of my chores early and if you thought I was going to escape, wouldn't I run?" Syala said with a hint of sass in her voice, looking up at the guards. They chuckled as they nodded
"Alright, but we'll be watching ya closely. Don't want another incident happening.. do we?" Another one spoke up, attaching his whip to his belt as he crossed his arms.
"No, sir" Syala said, gulping nervously. They let her pass to the water collection, where they hand washed clothes and other items.
Syala looked over at the few people that we're there, waving at her Wookie friend named Raarka. Raarak waved back with a excited growl and continued to wash the clothes in the basket next to them.
Syala grabbed a basket next to the clothing lines. She went next to Raarka and started to hand wash the clothes.
"(How's your shift been so far?)" Syala asked in the little Wookie she knew, continuing to wash the clothing.
"(It's been going well actually... everyone's been unharmed)" Raarka responded, looking at Syala every now and then. Raarka was around 20 and stood at a her full height of 5'8.
"(That's nice)" Syala responded back. They continued to talk as the hours passed by until it was the day shift.
Syala retreated back to the barracks as most of the day shift now headed to the mines as some headed to the water collection.
She headed to the back of the barracks where the elders were, smiling and waving at them. She saw Dallo and the group, together, heading to the water collection.
After a while, a slaver came into the barracks to check on them until... they heard an explosion... The initial boom, startled everyone as the slaver ran outside and Syala saw through the window where the explosion came from.
The mines..
Syala gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands, tears immediately formed as she rushed outside.
Smoke immitted from the collapsed mine, rocks covering the previous mine entrance.
Syala saw a crushed body who moved underneath the rocks, crushing the majority of their body. She approached the body, cautiously as she was afraid of the person lashing out.
The body looked up at Syala as she recognized the body. Minnua... She glared down at him and debated on walking away considering all the pain that he has caused her over the years.
