IV. A Sudden Gloom

A sudden gloom overwhelmed the room

Stole a breath, left a tightening chest

Her frozen heart is an unseen mess

Drowned the bits of light, she couldn't tell

She wondered where it went,

will it comeback if she regains her strength?

Wanted to cry and howl in tears

Wanted to run away and hide from the awaiting fears

Felt so drained and out of place

Lost the sweet and sour lingering taste

This sudden gloom left a phrase

A whisper for time not to go to waste

Poem Explanation:

A sudden gloom talks about a phenomena the persona didn't expect.

It is in the form of a quatrain, the first stanza is written with 9 syllables each line.

It explains the effects of the sudden gloom that the persona couldn't tell how it started or how did it become like that.

When she realized the seriousness of the situation she tried to think of a way out or solution.

The second and third stanza is in a randomized syllable count.

The persona thought that maybe it is only temporary.

Maybe things will go back eventually but she still fears that her hunch is wrong and thinks of running away from the problem.

In the end she found herself lost and realized that even if she hides nothing changes and there are things in life that people have to go through to learn a lesson and become a better version of themselves.
