Before you read the chappy, thank you so much for almost 100 reads in less than a week. Thank you so so much.So here's....
One: Yes or No?
I can feel the nervousness growing in me as my mouth goes dry. The pit in my stomach deepens and I can't help but gulp down the rising bile. I try hard to create some warmth by rubbing my cold clammy hands but they just move like a pale starfish against each other. I didn't sleep a wink last night thanks to the vivid dreams and I yet can't help but shift uneasily at their memories. I can feel the pulse pounding in my head and my rapid heartbeat is just making it worse. Moreover, I can feel sweat droplets slipping from my forehead even though theres a cool breeze blowing around and with my left eye twitching every once in a while I know that this is surely going to be the death of me.
To double my agony I just can't free myself of the regret that is filled in me for agreeing to this. All I know is that this is the biggest mistake of my life so far and that this can be the last day of my life. Its not like I'm on a gun point but it seems the same to me. Well which person in a proper state of mind would want to jump from an airplane that too all the way from more than eleven thousand feet. Yes, I Adeeva Laura Johnson am skydiving. Some people love the idea of experiencing such an adventure but I'm surely not one of them. In fact I hate it, anyone with a fear of heights would hate it. Sure I have a parachute with me but then again I'm scared of heights.
The main reason I'm stuck in this hell hole is due my stupid best friend Micah Leo Anderson. As I said I agreed to something. I agreed to take that video dance challenge and I was hundred percent sure that I would win. I always do, at least against my annoying best friend. Like usual the deal was that whoever wins gets their way with the other and just my luck, I lost this time. Though I know for one that he cheated or else there is no way in hell he can ever win against me. Nonetheless, he won and dragged me into agreeing to skydive. To say the least, like the little rebel I am, I tried everything possible to get out of the loop. But then again, its Mike and he blackmailed me by almost posting my sleeping pictures on facebook, where I had drool dripping from my mouth and that was mortifying. Thus the end of my sad story and I land up here. Sometimes I even wonder why I'm friends with such a jerk.
"Addy, are you alright? You look so pale as white as snow."Micah says dragging me out of my jumbled thoughts.
I don't know what to say or think, its just the fact that I have to jump in a while that has got me tongue tied.
"Oh come on say something at least. Just chill, nothings gonna happen believe me. You have a parachute with you and besides I'm there too. Trust me I won't let anything happen to you."He says while a man geared him up.
I can't help but snort at that. Suddenly I find this urge in me to yell at him and thats exactly what I do," Did you read the form they asked us to sign?"
I didn't wait for his response as I said, "It fucking said that they don't take any responsibility if I die due to any reason, be it my parachute not opening up or any other shit. And yet you expect me to keep my cool, huh? Also Mr. trusting and believing you at the moment is the last thing on my mind because your the freaking reason why I'm stuck in this."
"Okay, Okay, I get it. Just please take deep breaths yeah? Also Adeeva if in any case your parachute doesn't open, I'll catch you and then open my parachute like the hero I am and save you."He says trying to lighten up the mood. I thought he would get a bit more serious but I was so wrong. He thinks this all is a stupid joke, jackass.
"Shut up just shut up." I say exasperatedly.
"Excuse me you two, its time to jump. I hope you remember the instructions, one of our crew members will be there all the time if you need help along with the camera man. Also check the altimeter at all times. Thats it, good luck and enjoy." The management head informed us and walked away to others after giving us a small encouraging smile.
