Four: Looking at you like this kills me totally.
GUILT
That's what I'm feeling right now. The look on his face just cannot leave my mind. I don't know what I was thinking. How could I let those words slip? I didn't mean them not one bit.
But you yet said them.
My inner voice is just making me feel guiltier.
I'm feeling so bad right now. I don't think I've ever cried so much. He didn't deserve all this, he already has a lot in his share in this department. What do I do now? He won't listen to me and apologising will not be enough. Hell I ruined everything. I was asking him to open up to me and I'm sure that is his next plan. Note the sarcasm here. I've proved to be the worst friend in the world. I should have just confessed that I was overreacting, wouldn't have that been better.
Partly, but you would yet have to deal with your mother.
Shit, mom. My inner voice or rather my other half is just making me feel worse. Mike said he would handle her but I doubt she will understand. That means I'll be grounded and not allowed to meet Mike for twenty four hours minimum. So it means more hatred towards me. Yay Me! Not.
God please help me... please. I finally reach home and park my car.
Adeeva wipe your tears you don't want to include mom, do you?
Ugh!! I hate these times when my other half turns out smarter. I dab my eyes trying my best to wipe away all the tears and take deep breaths rather sniffs before heading to the front door.
"Adeeva kitchen right away." I hear mum call out even before I shut the door. Here goes nothing.
"Yes mom." I say as my voice comes out hoarse.
Oh no, I hope she didn't hear me or else shell know something is wrong. I reach the kitchen to see her making Grandmas soup with her back towards me. Like usual she's wearing the red apron with her long brown hair tied up in a messy bun.
I clear my throat and begin, "Hi Mom, I'm sorry about what I said earlier but trust me someone was irri-"
"Mike told me about the prank and everything." she says cutting me off.
Oh.
He told her about the prank and she doesn't sound angry too. Does that mean he really handled it? Wait she said pranks and everything.
Everything?
Did he tell her about our argument too?
"Adeeva? Addy? Are u listening?"My mum asks exasperatedly while turning towards me.
"Huh?" was my response.
"Have you been crying Addy? Mike also seemed off. What's wrong?"
So she doesn't know or is she just trying to get it out of me?
"No! Me and crying no way. It's just that I'm sleepy like real sleepy and Mike must have also been tired. Yeah tired."
Wow was that the best you could come up with.
Can you just please leave me alone. Please.
My mum poured the soup in a bowl and set it on the tray eyeing me the whole time. Her stare is making me uncomfortable like totally. Her black eyes can work as the best threatening equipment in any situation, it's like her inner talent.
"You know you both are the worst liars I've ever known."She says chuckling.
"Uh- uh don't even deny it. I know something is wrong and it's alright not to tell me just sort it out soon. Kay?" she continued.
