"The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished."

The 11th of October. 11.11 pm. The Northern Mountain city Elvinent.

It was a lonely, cold October night and the wind was howling through the alleys and streets that lay between the houses of the tiny city of Elvinent. The snow was thick and was wildly flying through everywhere it could get.

No houses was lit up as everyone was asleep in their beds, safe and sound. It was disturbingly silent outside and only the wind and some vicious, hungry wolf howls now and then, could be heard.

Then, suddenly a scream was cutting through the air from one of the alleys, but not even one of the closest houses lit up as everybody knew ignoring it was the best choice. That was just how things worked in this tiny city.

Inside the small walkway made of only mixed dirt and snow, a woman was standing protective over a little girl, facing three men at least thrice their size. It was the little girl whose scream had been ripped away with the wind.

"Lady please, just step aside and nothing bad will happen, we only want the girl." said the biggest of the three guys and also the one who stood in the middle.

The woman sneered and used one dainty hand to brush her deep red hair out of her face, a finely shaped pair of fox ears sat almost hidden inside her mass of curls and. and a long elegant fox tail, the same deep red as her hair, twitched angrily behind her.

Behind her stood the little girl, clutching her mothers cape. The obvious difference in color often made people think she was someone else's. Where as the woman had the healthy deep red color  a Kitsune was supposed to have, the little girl behind her had the palest Snow White skin and hair like the moon.

The three men threateningly took two steps forward as if in sync, which made the woman stumble backwards until both her and the girl were pressed against the back wall of the alley.

"come on, I know you freaks have a thing with family." The one on the left exclaimed, he was as tall as the other two but had a skinny unwashed stature.

"but really, even you can see your pup is sick, can't you?" the one on the right finished.

This got the woman to sink her ears low and growl, while tears gathered in her eyes. She still didn't move an inch away from her daughter who already had blood running down her temple from an earlier encounter with the three men, most of it was dry by now but it still gave a striking difference to her pale skin.

"Last chance." The one in the middle then growled and still the woman didn't move.

The girl wanted to tell her mother it was fine, that she should run as fast as she could and not look back, but her mother just pressed her more into the wall almost desperately. It was like she could hear her daughters thoughts and wouldn't accept the truth of it.

That was the last step the little girls mother ever took and her last words were a barely audible "I love you my snowflake."

Then the men acted and after as they dragged the little girl away kicking and screaming, tears running down her face mixing with the blood.

The last thing the little girl ever saw, was a sun kissed hand smeared with blood, reaching out to her.

And the striking deep red fur belonging to her mother now lifeless, clumped and matted with bloody snow.

Then everything went black.
