George's eyes fluttered open, seeing nothing but blue and white. Confused, he sat upright, taking in his surroundings.

He was in a grassy field under a blue sky, spotted with clouds every once and a while. George reached out his hand, letting the grass slip through his fingers. Shock overtook his body as he realized that he couldn't feel the grass between his fingers. Now that he payed more attention, he couldn't hear anything either. Panic filled his thoughts as he desperately tried to grab the grass, pulling it out of the earth in an attempt to feel anything at all.

The boy bit the inside of his cheek frantically, noticing that he couldn't taste the metal of the blood he knew he drew. Letting out a frustrated sigh made him only more annoyed with the fact he couldn't hear himself. The silence was painful, suffocating even.

He screamed. Despite knowing it changed nothing, it felt a bit better to let some frustration out.

Slowly, his hands were able to feel the grass underneath him as he hands propped his body up. He let out a sigh of relief, even though he was unable to hear it.

Sound came back to him quietly. Gradually getting louder and louder, hearing the breeze as it swayed the strands of grass with ease. A ghost of a smile found it's way onto George's face, the place was so serene and peaceful, he could stay there forever if it was a real place.

A real place...

The reason why he was even there in the first place came rushing back to the boy, standing up abruptly made his body sway from the sudden jolt.

George analyzed his surroundings more descriptively, noticing the plains he was in was surrounded by a forest a couple yards away from where he stood. All except one side.

George froze as he turned his body to a lake. The water was still, showing little signs of life in it. However, the water wasn't what caught his eye.

It was the boy sitting a couple feet away from it.
