Cut

I'm sorry,
but sorry doesn't cut it.
I would cut myself instead
to relieve you of that pain,
caused by the naive of mine.

If I didn't exist,
you would not have felt such pain.

For behind that strong facade,
lies a child,
hurt by his past,
and tormented by his present,
struggling for his future.

Why do you keep me by your side,
If all I do destroys you.
Why would you not just turn me down,
instead you display your bare neck,
as if asking to drain the blood out of you.

The sorrow you harbour in your body,
I cannot comprehend.
The guilt in your memories,
rip you to shreds.

Yet,
your kindness still remains,
towards one who cuts you.
