Once we were inside, Raiden laid me down on the couch and Nyx sat in a chair. Ryles ran up the stairs and came back down a minute later with a bandage. Raiden had ran back into the village to find a healer. Ryles wrapped the bandage around Nyx's ankle tightly. He wrapped it round and round until he was satisfied and tied it off. My thigh started hurting again and I closed my eyes.

A few minutes later, Raiden burst through the door with the healer. The healer set down his bag and knelt next to the couch. He introduced himself and then got to work. Luckily, the healer said it was not serious and he cleaned it and put a proper bandage around it. He said it would feel better in a day or so and I could probably be able to walk and do as normal in a few days. He also looked at Nyx's ankle.

"Good work, Ryles." he said, nodding to Ryles. He said Nyx's ankle wasn't anything serious and she would be fine in a day or so. Once he left, Raiden came over to us.

"So, if you guys want, you can stay here for at least the night. I'm sure my parents will be okay with it." Nyx and I agreed. When Raiden and Ryles' mother came home, she seemed appalled at first to see two injured girls sitting on her living room couch. Raiden led her outside and I assume told her everything. She walked back in, confused and concerned. Nyx, always polite and knowing what to say stood up to meet her.

"Mrs. Campriano, we wanted to say thank you for allowing us to stay here. We are most thankful for your town and for Ryles and Raiden and all they've done." I stood up and felt like I should say something as well.

"Yes, without everyone here, they probably would be dead." I cringed at that. It didn't sound as good as it did in my head. She nodded. It was the same story when Mr. Campriano came home. Ryles and Raiden slept in their bedroom, their parents in their room, and Nyx and I on the couch. I didn't want to set the wrong image, so I put Father's knife in my bag.

The next day, Mr. and Mrs. Campriano went to work and Ryles and Raiden went to school. When the boys came home, we all headed into town. We were introduced to some people at the market where Ryles and Raiden had to pick up some stuff for their parents. We also met some of the other boys and girls. They were playing a game with a small ball. They were throwing it back and forth and if you dropped it, you were out. It looked like fun.

That's what happened for the next few days until we were healthy. The Campriano's even seemed to like us. Nyx made friends with a few girls who enjoyed the same kind of things she did. I liked to hang out with Raiden and Ryles' friends. We played different games outside everyday after school. Did I mention we started going to school now? No? Well, now you know. All in all, Nyx and I were happy.
