The Revenge

William POV

"What's this all about? Why are you near Alice?", Rose questioned.

"You are seeing the right thing, baby"  I said with a smirk.

"I was waiting for this golden opportunity for such a long time. Now I can stop acting in front of you like an idiot. It's very tiring you know", I continued.

"How could you easily believe that Mr. William Rosewood would like a plain girl like you, Rose? I think I'm a great actor", I said.

The shock was plastered on her face. She didn't move a bit. I continued, "You know what? you deserve this. You deserve this heartbreak. You are the reason for my pain. I couldn't get my love in the past as you were the reason behind it", I said while gritting my teeth.

I was fuming with anger. She was the reason behind my misery. If I could kill her with my stare, she would have turned into ash in this instant.

"What?? wh- what did I ever do? I liked you so much in the past also. We both liked each other and now you are telling me that you could not get the person whom you loved. What does that mean? Didn't you like me in the past? Did you like someone else? Who was that?", she questioned and her tears started to flow endlessly from her eyes.

"I never liked you, period", I shouted.

Rose winced, aghast at my betrayal. Alice bent her head to think about this whole situation. Her face was covered with sadness, anger, and guilt.

"Hey Alice, why didn't you tell our story to your best friend. After all, she is your only best buddy and she deserves to know at least now. Don't you think Alice?", I asked Alice in a taunting tone.

"No- no William, don't do these things. She is unaware of our conversation. Please don't merge things from the past. She is innocent", Alice said and started crying.

"Will you guys please tell me what is happening here? I'm not understanding anything. What past? Did you guys had some past? Why didn't I know anything about this? Even you Alice? You also decided to cheat on me with him", Rose told with all her might.

"I loved Alice, not you. I liked her for a very long time. I tried to approach you, remember? I did that to approach Alice. I wanted to know more about her. I didn't dare to express my love for her. But you mistook that thing for love. You thought that I'm liking you. Idiocy at its peak", I told to Rose.

"You blabbered your feelings and my fondness for you to Alice. She thought that even I'm liking you. When you got transferred to another city because of your dad, I approached Alice to confront my feelings. I proposed her with all my heart. She rejected", I said.

"You rejected him, Alice? Why didn't I know about this? You told me that you had never seen him after I transferred. What is he talking about, Alice? Why didn't you bother to tell me? What the hell is happening with my life? First of all, why on this earth did you even reject him", Rose shouted with anger.

"Because of you!!!! She rejected me because of you. She said that she couldn't like me because her best friend loves me a lot. So she didn't want to cheat on you", I shouted.

"I tried to convince her in all possible way but she didn't budge. I searched for you in all the goddamn places!! you were nowhere. Only you could tell your friend, but you just went without even telling anyone. My love was not enough. She even didn't care to give it a chance", I exclaimed with anger in my whole body.

"Just because of your stupid crush, I couldn't get the love of my life. I started hating you from that day. I was searching for you. But you were transferred multiple times so I couldn't get you", I added.

"Now I don't love Alice anymore. I just remember the pain of rejection and extreme hatred towards you, that's it" I said.

Alice collapsed. She realised her mistake. She didn't know the consequence of her action would end up being a big obstacle in her best friend's life.

"I didn't reject you because of her. I didn't like you in that way. I tried to make you understand that but you were not listening to my point of view, so I told her name as a reason to avoid you. Her love for you was very pure. She never expected that you would reciprocate her love. She is innocent. Why did you cheat her?", Alice questioned me with helplessness, extreme pain. She was in agony.

"What?" I and Rose both exclaimed.

"Why did you lie, Alice? Why did you take my name? What did I do to you? Why didn't you tell me anything about this? You know what, I could have happily accepted your relationship. My friendship was more important than my one-sided love", Rose said while sobbing.

"I shouldn't have done this. Rose is not the reason behind anything. Why did I punish her? Why did I fake my love? Did I even fake it? I never lied to her. Every word came on its own from my mouth when she was around. The care and concern for her were real. I never faked it. Without knowing I have fallen in love with her. Why the hell did I do these things? Hatred had engulfed my conscience. Without realising my love for her, I was trying to take revenge" I thought to myself.

Hatred is something which you own and you will never realise the price of owning it until it destroys your sweet world and peace of your mind. When hatred is fuelled with anger, then the actions are irreversible.
