Part 1 : A new life

2 years ago:  The sun had barely risen and I had already heard my mom's voice calling me from downstairs, "Emily" she shouted from the kitchen. I decided to ignore her thinking she would stop and I was obviously forgetting the importance of the day that was just beginning, I rolled my eyes and suddenly remembered today was the day we were moving to the outer banks, known as paradise on earth.

I heard my mom shout again, this time a little louder. "Emily" she continued, while still in the kitchen, then I heard the delicious smell of pancakes wafting up the staircase and immediately began to ready myself for the day. "I'm just taking a shower and then I'll come down for breakfast mom" I shouted while grabbing my towel from the bathroom shelf. "Ok honey," she said before I closed the door and stepped into the hot water.

I had been bullied here for so long and was finally starting a fresh start, new place, new house, new life. I was so excited to get out of here, my dad left when I was younger so it was just me, my mom and my sister, my mom used to get drunk a lot so I would take care of my sister myself. She was verbally abusive about my weight and looks which made insecure about my body but we've both changed, she takes care of us well now and I can show off my body without feeling anxious about what people will think.

I stepped out of the shower and shivered at the cold air, I closed the bathroom window before slipping on a jumper and shorts, I was going to let my hair air dry on the way there, I quickly ran downstairs hearing my 4-year-old sister calling to me. " hey Millie" I said picking her up and kissing her cheek. "Morning mom," I said heading into the kitchen. "Morning honey" there are pancakes on the stove if you want them. She smiled at me. I grabbed the pancakes and sat at our breakfast bar. Me and mom talked for around 10 minutes while Millie played around with her toy elephant, the vibes were perfect and I was so happy to be starting a new life.

That was 2 years ago and now, well you'll just have to wait for my story.
