Third Persons POV
The autumn days were dull and breezy.. The cloudy skies coming in, welcoming October. Chilly nights tickling the back of your neck. It was an ordinary day.. But one night..a night that would never escape Maya's mind..Maya Finner was a young teenager; seventeen years old.. Dark brown hair that use to travel all the way down to the back of her knees. Matching brown eyes that would always sparkle in the harvest moon.
She was always a quiet young lady.. She had a various small group of friends, that she would always invite to sleepovers and parties. She had very decent grades in Highschool. She was shy, but kind to everyone she came across.
Her parents would always work late night shifts. That they left Maya to take care of all the chores and look after her older siblings. Her twin brothers were about two years older than her.. Michael was so smart and cheerful.
While, Malachi would always get into a little mischief. When they're together, they would always get into trouble. They never showed it, but they cared for Maya very much. But they soon started getting distant over time.
It was a normal, fall morning.. Maya and her brothers were getting ready for there last day of school before Halloween appears. "Hey, sis..it's time to go." Malachi calls from downstairs. "I'll be right there."
Maya grabs her backpack and makes her way out of her bedroom. She was wearing blue, ripped jeans, with a black T-shirt.. She pulled a black, furry coat over her shoulders, and walked out the door.
"I'm so hyped! Tomorrow is Halloween!" Michael lightly punched his twin brother in the arm. "Bro, calm down.. It's just another holiday." Malachi sighs, as they both walk in front of their sister. "I know, but still!"
Maya rolled her eyes and kept on walking, with her shoulders slumped forward.. She wasn't very much looking forward into another spooky holiday. Her last school wasn't all that great in the slightest..
It was like working in a burnt down building, left to rot in an alley. Papers all over the classroom floor..students picking on the person sitting in front of them. Maya had to suffer through all of it..
And she never once told her family about the issue, due to them being so distant, like she was living with a couple of strangers. But the teasing never stopped her from getting into fights..
And always finishing them off with a little blood on her hands from punching bullies in the nose. Just about a few minutes away from her school..Maya saw a flash of white. She ignored it, thinking it was just her imagination.
As they arrived at the school..students were already staring and whispering to each other. Her brothers ran off to their class, leaving Maya to go find her homeroom herself. She sighs in annoyance and walks to her class.
"Alright, class.. Settle down." Mr. Beck; a teacher who replaced their past teacher, calls out, grabbing a clipboard off his desk. "Now..um, let's see here.. Uh..Mazey Finner?" Maya scrunches up her face, thinking how that doesn't even sound close to her name.
The new teacher scratches his head in embarrassment.. "Oh, sorry.. It's hard to read without my glasses." The students start to snicker and whisper to each other. A few seconds into class..and they already started calling Maya a name that she despises.
She sighs and just ignores Mr. Beck for the rest of the day...
~time skip: ( ゚д゚)~
About around class ended; Maya quickly picked up her things and speed walked out of the classroom. She could still here the students laughing from at the end of the hall. Maya sighs in annoyance, as she opens up her locker.
Already to find that there's a note in there.. She tosses the note away; not curious at all to what was written on it. She slams the metal door shut; making her way to lunch.. She ignores the whispers of her classmates, as they are calling out to her.. "Hey, Mazey.! Mazey! Over her-"
The bully, Erin gets a punch to the face; feeling blood dripping down her nose. "It's, Maya. Can't you get that through your thick skull?" The long, dark brunette shoves her hands into her coat pockets, and stomps away..
She looks to her right; finding her brothers talking to each other in the hallway. Maya smiles, and makes her way towards them. She squeezes between her brothers; getting their attention.
"Hey, what's up, sis." Malachi puts his large hand on his sister's head; ruffling her hair. "Hey, is your hand okay.?" Michael notices the blood on Maya's knuckles; alarming the boys to pull her the closest bathroom.
"Oh my god. What did you get yourself into?" Malachi holds her wrist up, as Michael rinsed it off with a wet paper towel. "Just a little accident." Maya decides not go any further; not wanting to get bombarded with questions.
A sound of a stall door could be heard slamming shut, as the three turn around to see a teenage boy with dark black hair, pale blue eyes, and a white hoodie with red stains on it. The thing that sent child down Maya's spine; was that he had a crippling fresh cut smile.
"Whoa- Sick Halloween costume, man!" Malachi still grips onto his sister's wrist, as he stares at the guy. "Uh..thanks." He had a raspy voice that matched the screeching of nails against a chalkboard.
He glances at Maya and walks out of the restroom. "We should start heading home, anyway. The school is having students being released early." Michael states; pulling his sister out of the restroom.
"Hey, we gotta get back to our lockers and grab our stuff. Want to just come with us, or are you going to wait?" The twins look back their sister; waiting for a response. "I'll meet you guys at the entrance. I still gotta grab my stuff, too."
The boys nod and walk off; leaving Maya in the large, quiet halls of the school. Three pairs of shoes could be heard stomping down the hallway. "Hey, you little, sl*t. Don't think that you were going get away with what you did!"
Erin's voice sounded like her throat just got clogged up, like a bath drain; due the noticeable bandage that's on her nose. "Listen..I don't care if you hate me.. But, if you ever call me by that disgusting name again-"
Maya didn't even bother to finish her threat, as she hears the last bell ring. She huffs out her cheeks in anger, walking out of the hallway entrance.. "Hey, sis, you ready to go.?" Malachi waves his arm around, calling his sister over..
"Man, I can't wait for Halloween.!" Malachi pumps his fist in the air.. "I heard, that the town hall is hosting a haunted house, this year." Michael says, catching his brother's attention. "Awesome! We should go to it."
Maya kept looking down, counting each crack she came across on the sidewalk.. She carefully listened to the twin's conversation, as they enter the house..
