Before you proceed, I would like to give a warning. Some of you might prefer to keep your mental image of the characters even at post-read, and having my own faceclaims would undoubtedly destroy that. I personally feel ENTHRALLED when authors share their character faceclaims even if they look completely opposite from how imagine them to be, and I'm confident some of you feel the same.
That said, I should also consider those who prefer otherwise. Therefore, if you fall within the latter, skip this chapter now and end the book. Thanks for reading until the end!
If you are fine with seeing how I imagine my characters, then please proceed below.

Still here? Alright, then. I hereby present to you the main cast with their respective anime aesthetic (because I like it)! The early planning for AEAS leans more toward Japanese sensibilities with a bit of Chinese and SEA influence but the more I write the more Xianxia-ish it feels (if ya get what I mean). I'll remember not to mix too much culture because I know some might find that off-putting, and I have no intention of disrespecting any culture.

Xu Kai as 𝓡𝓾𝓺𝓪
Fun fact: he wasn't the initial faceclaim, but when I first saw this particular picture of the actor I literally screamed 'Ruqa!' at my screen. Must be the eyes. He exudes the right amount of pretty and arrogance in his photoshoot that I personally find fitting for our 'ambitchious' MC. And yes, that's him on the cover ;)
P.S. His anime version is one of my favourite illustrations on Pinterest TwT
