Why Are You Here? (Saiki X Teruhashi)

Chapter 9

Teruhashi ran out the door of her house before her brother could stop her. She heard him say something but she couldn't make it out, so she just kept going because she didn't care. As she had hoped, she saw Saiki walking with his friends to school at his usual time in the morning. "7:47, exactly as I expected!" She caught up to them, and that made Saiki smile a little when he saw her. "Hey guys, would you mind me borrowing Saiki for just a minute?" She said with the softest voice she could before whispering. "OHH UHH- Y-YEA TAKE HIM FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT" Said Kaidou, who was the loudest out of the other rambling idiots that made the friend group. "Thank you!" Teruhashi said, with a subtle smile that almost made the other boys melt. As they started arguing over who the "thank you" was directed to, Teruhashi pulled Saiki aside into an alley so she wouldn't be cat called out on the street. "Meet me outside the art room door right after we get out of our last class, but don't walk with me." Teruhashi's words made Saiki confused, despite being in the top one-percent of IQ's for high school seniors. "Ok, why?" He said with his telepathy, while still managing a monotone, uninterested voice even though he was kind of exited. "Just do it, I need to pay you back for not letting me.. ya know.. die."

Still confused, Saiki nodded and continued walking to school. Teruhashi followed behind him to make sure he wasn't going to teleport away, which to her surprise he didn't. They went through their school day as usual, Saiki getting painfully average grades and dealing with painfully average people. Teruhashi barely made it through her own typical day which included getting offered jobs and offered other things that will not be mentioned for the sake of our young readers out there. Finally, the last bell rang and everyone rushed to go home, and soon the hallways were flooded with students. Teruhashi got through the crowd with ease, as her fan club made sure that any boys in their group (which was most of the 10th grade) made a path for her at all times. Saiki however, had a more difficult time. He pushed his way out and finally made it to the art room door where Teruhashi said she'd be, which to his surprise, she was.

Just like Teruhashi had wanted, her usual tidal wave of boys surrounded her, but almost none of them noticed Saiki. At least not until Teruhashi's next action. She made sure everyone was watching, and nervously put her hands on Saiki's shoulders. His heart was throbbing again, but this time just out of pure panic rather than something good. Before he knew what was happening, Teruhashi's mouth was on his, and the other boys were screaming at him louder than he's ever heard. The kiss only lasted for a few seconds before Saiki's mind could catch up with his emotions and he pushed her off (without hurting her of course, he would have been killed by the Teruhashi Fan Club if he did). His eyes locked on hers for a few seconds before he ran into the bathroom and teleported before the other boys could get the door down. He arrived in his house and before his parents could question what was happening he slammed the door to his room and tried to comprehend what just happened, his heart still beating out of his chest.
