Nicole's POV

Uhhh what time is it? I squint my eyes at the dark room. I look over and see that it is 4:32 A.M. I groan and get up. I walk into my closet and grab one of the boys old shirts and a pair of leggings. I grab my black combat boots and slip them on. I grab my jacket and slip it on. I grab my backpack and grab a book and walk out of my room. I walk down the hall to Avery's room. I crack it open and look through. I see a figure in the bed. I sigh in relief. Sometimes Avery didn't come home when he went out. I walk back down the hall and head towards Grandmas room. I walked in and walked over to her bed. I knelt down besides it and put my hands together and on the bed. And I begin my usual pray that I do every Sunday.

"God, please protect my brothers from any harm. I know that they have made wrong decisions in there lives but they deserve to be protected. Thank you for bringing a beautiful morning every day. Amen."

Then I stood up and sat down on the bed. "Grandma, I am trying to be strong, I truly am, but I bet you are very disappointed in me. I don't know how though, I don't know how to be stronger. It's so hard to be strong sometimes. Sometimes I don't want to be strong, sometimes I just want to die because of how I get bullied, but I am still trying to be strong for my brothers. But they ignore me, sometimes I don't know if they even care about me. Grandma I love you." I then get up and start walking towards the door. I walk down to the living room and I walk to the front door and walk out.

I walk down the street and start heading towards the direction of the church. Today is when some people bring food to the church and everybody has breakfast together. A smile forms on my face. This is my escape.

I round a corner and I see the church and other cars starting to get there to. It is about a two hour walk to the church from the house. Church starts around seven. And walking the two hours is always worth it when I get inside the church.

When I enter the church I see a bunch of people around a table, which I assume is the breakfast. Before I head to the table I walk over to Pastor Michel. He is talking to a elderly couple. Mia and George. I big smile forms on my face. "Mia! George!" I yell and wave and walk over to them. "Nicole! How are you?" asked Mia. I pull her into a hug and then I pull George into a hug too. "Same old, same old." I say, then I turn around to see Pastor Michel. I hug him. "Hey, how are you?" I ask when I pull away from the hug and look at Mia, George, and Pastor Michel. "I'm great." Then he shares a look with Mia and George.

Mia and George are like grandparents to me while Pastor Michel is a best friend.

A huge smile goes on Mia's and George's face. There's also a smile on Pastor Michel's face also. "What is it?" I ask. I look between Mia and George and Pastor Michel. What's going on here? "Michel tell her." Mia says the smile some how growing. "Well, you have been at this very church for twelve years and your fourteen now, so I scheduled a baptism in two weeks." I gasp. Then I squeal. I run over and give him a huge bear hug. He starts laughing. "So I am going to guess that you are excited?" He asks looking at me. I nod my head not being able to speak. Grandma always wanted us baptized. Now I am getting baptized! I can't wait to tell her when I get home.

"You must be hungry, come on let's get some food." says Mia. George and her grab my hand and we start heading towards the breakfast table.

I grab a bowl and put some grapes and a strawberries into it. I wait patiently for them to grab there breakfast. When they are done we walk to a table and sit down. "So, how are you're brothers?" asked Mia.  They used to come to church but when Grandma died they stopped coming. "Oh, you know. The same as always. Last night Caleb brought a girl home and I had to put in ear buds and ear muffs." I say. They already know how they treat me. Actually I think the whole church knows how they treat me.

Mia and George start laughing. "So how is Avery doing? Is he home more often?" asked George. I shake my head. "No, he leaves at noon and comes home around two in the morning drunk." I say looking down. I stare at my grapes and strawberries. I had two left and I don't think I can eat them. Mia rubs my back. I look up at her. "Give him time. He'll get better." reassures Mia. "I know." I mutter.

"Well, we better get going, or we will be late." says George standing up. He takes my hand and Mia's and we head towards the chapel.

When we get in the chapel we take a seat in the front. I take my bible out of my backpack and I open it. "Good morning. Now let's start with some songs before we start our lesson." says Pastor Michel through the microphone.

"Are you ready?" asked Mia and George. Mia and George always drops me off at home after church. "Hold on, I need to say bye to Pastor Michel." I say and I run over to him. "Bye, see you next Sunday." I say to him. "See you next Sunday, oh and tell your grandmother I say hi." he says. I smile at him and I run back to Mia and George. "Now are you ready?" asks George trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably making Mia and I to start laughing. "Let's go kiddo." says Mia slinging her arm around my shoulder. I laugh and nod. We start heading toward their car. I hop into the back and I sit in the middle. George gets in the drivers side and Mia goes on the passenger side. They hop in and we are off.

"So how is Elliot? He was such a ladies man." says Mia. When Elliot was six he kissed Mia's hand and said she was beautiful. And now Mia will never let it go. I laugh at her. "Yeah, he is such a ladies man." I say making Mia roll her eyes and George to laugh.

We were like this the whole way to my house. When we got here I kissed Mia and George on the cheek. "See you guys next Sunday and thanks for the ride." I say and I shut the door I start walking up the steps when George calls out. "Tell your Grandma that Mia and I say hi." I smile. "Ok." Mia, George, and Pastor Michel all know that I talk to Grandma every Sunday so every Sunday they ask me to tell her that they say hi. That make me smile. Grandma is still getting love after she died.

I walk into the house and walk up the stairs and I head to grandmas room. I walk over to her bed and sit down. "Grandma guess what. I am finally getting baptized just like you wanted. I am so excited! I don't know if I should tell the boys. By how they treat me I don't think they should know. It's not like they want to be in my life, they sorta are forced to be. But can you watch from above? Please? Oh and Mia and George say hi so does Pastor Michel. I love you." I say and I stand back up and walk to my room, but before I do I walk over to Avery's room and  crack it open. I look through to see if Avery was still there. Gone. I sigh, and walk back to my room.
