Sigh! I stop briefly in front of the Milordorv Corporation, it feels like the bold letters in their classic font right above the revolving glass reception door are mocking me, taunting me to back out, just like the rude attitude of its owner.

Ugh whatever, just think about the money girl! I grab my foundation compact to check my face.

Good everything is in tact, I apply an extra layer of mascara to really amp up the volume of my lashes, and it also adds some contrast to the glacial colour of my eyes. I make sure all my hair is tame, since I've got Amazonian dark blonde hair that likes to be unruly and make me look nuts.

I'm relieved to find that the copious amounts of hair product I have put in my hair has done its job and I'm left with my long mane in a sleek low bun. Which brings my facial features forward, I've been told I have quite statuesque features, which roughly translates to fine lips, with a sharp bow, high cheek bones and a contradicting curvy body to match.

I look neat, sharp and polished – ready for action. I feel pretty confident if I do say so myself.

I take a deep breath to steel my nerves and begin to move forward to the reception area.

The first thing I notice is the décor of the building, it's very austere. To be expected of Russians they've always got to show off their money in one way or another, and what better way then marble throughout the damn building, and columns that support the building. Such an inappropriate use of expenditure if you ask me, and it pains me to admit it but it does look good.

I see a blonde bombshell manning the front and assume she is the receptionist in charge of the foyer, and make my way over to her and patiently wait for her to acknowledge me.

I kid you not I have been standing in front of this woman for 10 minutes straight and she hasn't looked up at me not once. What's this bitch's problem?

Trust! Why does it always have to be the stereotypical gym junkie, bleached chicks that have to be absolute dogs.

I stare her down taping my foot on the foyer trying to get her attention, little do you know that makes no dent on her awareness radar, which is zero might I add. I clear my throat, 'Excuse me, I have an appointment with Mr. Milordov in 15 minutes, if you could just point the way I'll be out of your hair and on my way'. I stare at her, waiting for a response.

She finally looks and god forbid acknowledges my existence, she does a once over and I can already see scorn in her eyes, 'Sorry but Mr. Milordov isn't in the office right now, you'll have to come back on another day, can I take a message?' she diverts her attention to her French manicured tips clearly bored with me.

My friendly demeanor is all but strained at this point, oh the joys of egotistical employees, I haven't been on the receiving end of it in the last 5 years since my promotion at iCan Inc. Sigh.

'Look Blondy, I don't have time for your snarky attitude right now, I know for a fact that Mr. Milordov is in today, now you can either give me the information that I need or I'll find his office myself.' I stare her down with my biggest 'you are beneath me' glare.

Blondy's eyes go to slits, 'First of all my name is not Blondy and I already told you he isn't here today, and if you keep pushing me I can get you escorted off the premises with our security team'. She crosses her arms in a self-satisfied manner, like she's done the world a favour by attempting to get rid of me.

I actually start laughing at the nerve of this chick; she has no idea who I am. Her mistake not mine. You know the saying, 'Know thy enemy' well she's about to get real educated.

I pick up my phone and dial HR's number, 'Hi, this is Jasmine. I'm terminating the receptionist on your foyer. Send someone down to escort her out of the building with her package. Thanks'.

Incidentally yesterday Nikolai's courier sent over my contract. Inside the envelope, not only was there a contract, but other pamphlets, such as names and numbers of department heads throughout the building, the only thing I didn't receive was my staff badge that would give me clearance to go to all levels in the building.

She just smirks as me like I've lost my damn mind.

Next thing you know a short balding man is running out of the elevator towards the reception desk. He stops in front of me and composes himself before speaking. 'Hi Miss Lovic, my name is Ruben, I'm the head of HR, I apologise for the service you have received from our staff on your first day here. I will quickly remove her from the premises, and have you on your way to Mr. Milordov'.

Now that's what I'm talking about, finally someone with a brain around here.

He talks into his smart watch, and I hear him barking orders at someone and next thing you know a security guard pops up next to the reception desk and he announces, 'Shelly have 5 minutes to grab your things and get out or I am going to have to escort you off the premises'.

Ah the look on her face was damn priceless, and oh so satisfying.

'You can't do this to me!' she shrieks.

She points at me, 'I've been working at Milordov Corp for a year, and you can't just fire me just because she says so!'

I stare at her; with the same bored look she gave me when I needed a hand.

'She can because she is the acting director of Level 13, she's got the clearance, so please leave now Shelly, don't make Stan have to throw you out, I'll mail your severance package to you.' Stan cautions.

'Now if you will follow me Miss Lovic I'll take you up to see Mr Milordov'. He ushers me to the elevator.

Shelly continues to give the stink eye from the desk and I see the security guard move into her line of sight, and the gold elevator doors shut. Ah the sweet taste of peace, so bittersweet.

He punches in a code on the side of the buttons and scans his employee card and we are off.

I glance over at the poor 47-year-old man sweating next to me; I can practically hear his heart beating from here.

I glance at the elevator meter and see that we are nearing level 18 and say, 'Thanks for coming promptly, I appreciate it. I would also like to add that what happened here stays between us, I won't be starting at the HR department until 2 weeks have passed and I have evaluated what I want done with floor 13. I want my identity to be anonymous for the time being. Also can you please get started on arranging my pseudo employee profile so I can start working after my meeting with Milordov'.

He wipes the sweat off his forehead and stammers, 'Absolutely, I'll get right on that Miss Lovic'.

I wave him off, 'It's okay, just 'Jas' is fine'.

He nods emphatically and the door pings indicating that we've reached Nikolai's floor, Ruben leads me to the reception area and tells me to take a seat, whilst he goes over to notify the receptionist that I have arrived to see Nikolai. She smiles at me and leads the way.
