Later on that day when school ended I walked with Tris to the bus. I had one ear bud in my ear and Tris had the other. We were listening to none other than Lifestyle. As we were walking I heard my name being called behind me. As always I paid no attention but then I was tugged back. I snapped my head around just to discover perfection, Braden. "Remember to call me, okay?" Braden shot at me with a sly look. "Okay I promise." I stuttered. When Tris and I entered the bus all eyes were on us. I despised when that happened I hate people and I hate attention. I ignored them and walked back to my seat. I sat alone since the girl supposed to sit there moved because she knows I hate people. I pulled out my phone and listened to music. I looked out the window as the bus rushed passed this beautiful open field of flowers. My phone vibrated and my music was interrupted by a text. It was from Braden. It read " You were the highlight of my day by far!" That made me blush. Never had someone been so kind and said things like that. He made me happy. I never replied because my stop was coming up. I stood up as we approached and walked to the front and exited the bus still with all eyes on me. Why do people do that? I called Braden as I walked down the asphalt ignoring everyone around me. " Meet me at my apartment. How about 7:30?" Braden said. " Most definitely!" I immediately responded. I hung up. I rushed down the road needing to get home and get ready to see him. When j say "get ready" I honestly mean go on my phone until last minute and then get ready and look bad. When I reached the house I pulled my keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door. I walked through the door and threw everything down on the floor and ran into my room. I ran and jumped into my bed and pulled out my phone to check my social media or watch my favorite youtubers. After a while passed my eyes just happened to catch the time at the top of my phone and I had about 45 minutes left to get there. I took a shower and put on some dark blue jeans and a cream lace shirt. I straightened my curly brown hair and made it nice and straight, just the way I like it. I was so hungry so I went to the fridge and found nothing I wanted at the moment but I grabbed an Arizona Green Tea. I had my tea and phone now I just needed my keys. Once I located my keys that were on my bed I left the house and locked the door. I slowly walked down the driveway to the car. Braden was on my mind as I was driving. I was getting so close, less than two minutes and I would be there. I saw the sign after a minute that meant I was here. I turned the through the twisty road of the complex. 2308 I found it. My heart was beating fast and as I stepped out of the car my phone started vibrating in my back pocket. I pulled it out and answered. It was Braden. " Hey. Yeah im here." I responded. " Alright. Come inside." He directed. I walked up to his door and knocked while waiting patiently. He took a bit but soon opened the door. I walked inside and stood by the couch. " I have something outside for us. It might just take me another second. Do you mind?" shouted Braden from afar. " That's nice of you. I do t mind at all. Just let me know when you're ready for me to come out there." I replied happily. I stood there and my thoughts changed when I heard clashing in the backyard. "It's ready. You can come out now." He shouted. I walked out the back door. It was so beautiful. There was lights set up in a circle above this little pallet in the ground overlooking a field of flowers with a pond in the middle. Braden gently grabbed ahold of my hand as we sat down on the pallet. I gazed up at the stars and back at him. As I looked I caught a glimpse of him staring at me. I just continued to glare at him like he put those beautiful stars in the sky. His grasp on my hand weakened and his arm went around me. I knew then that this was my happy place, with him. Braden made me happy and was always here for me. There have been countless times when he has been there in my darkest times and never regretted helping me and being there. I knew then that Braden and I were " meant to be." Hours passed that made me happy. Those hours made me a different person. I wasn't the same crazy, wild, and outgoing girl. I was calm, star struck, completely happy again. Sadly we both realized it was time I went home. That tore my heart. All I wanted was to stay there with him. I slowly got up from his grasp. A frown was planted on my face and as I got up I looked over at Braden and he looked sad as well. " So... I know you already said no before... But would you consider going out with me? I really love you and care about you. If you could just give me a chance." Braden pleaded to me. " Yes! Yes! Yes! I will!! I love you too! I just never wanted to admit it." I said with a giant smile on my face. Braden got up and gave me a hug and whispered " Bye my love. I will be sad with your absence. I love you." I blushed and replied " I love you too. I will miss you dearly. Bye." We slowly let go of the hug. I turned towards his apartment and walked around it to reach my car. As I stepped in the car and backed out my phone started ringing. I looked around in search of it and lifted up an old McDonald's take out bag and found my phone. I answered and put it up slowly to my ear. A song was playing. " A drop in the ocean, A change in the weather, I was praying that you and me might end up together, it's like wishing for rain I stand in the desert, but I'm holding you closer than most chase you are my heaven." I knew that song well. The song stopped but another came on. " Baby girl you a blessing, the way you walk you got it, the way you talk you got it, the way you smile you got it, and you don't take shit from nobody." I also knew that song. Actually Braden's best friend told me that was the song he had for us. Hearing those songs and thinking of why he was playing them to me. It made me happy. " I love you." I say into the music. The music stops and a voice cuts through " I love you too my love." I started to back out again as I talked to Braden on my way home. When I got around the corner of my house I started to end the call. " I'm almost home. I will talk to you later. I love you. Bye." I said with my heart still warm. " Bye my love. I love you too. Don't forget about me later though." He said as he started chuckling. I hung up. I walked up the cracked cement path to get to the heavy wood door and unlocked it. I went inside and plopped right onto my bed and fell asleep. I fell asleep with Braden still on my mind.
