John woke up naturally, a feeling he was not used to, he had noticed when he first went to bed last night how comfortable the bed was. it was only a normal single bed with a straw and feather mattress with a piece of cloth acting as a duvet (although it was hot so John wasn't too bothered that there was no warmth to the bed). Once he woke he noticed that Arthur was standing in the doorway of the tent, "get dressed and get ready, you're gonna learn how to shoot today boah" (boy with an accent). John got changed into some clothes Arthur had lent him for today, just a pair of black trousers and a plain button up shirt. They fitted him a little too big but they were originally Arthur's so that's to be expected. "So," Arthur began as he walked towards the forest and gestered for John to follow him. "you're gonna aim at that tree over there, I'm gonna show you to shoot the gun. just the cattleman revolver for today, then we'll head back to camp and I'll show you how to maintain it. that all right?" Arthur asked him. "sure yeah" John replied. Arthur handed John the revolver and made sure he was holding it properly and guided him through the process. "is this right?" John asked him and Arthur slightly adjusted the way John was standing. "Alright so you're gonna wanna make sure it doesn't send you flying back. Breath and always pull the trigger on empty lungs." Arthur reassured him. John fired and missed the first time but hit the tree on the second time which caused him to giggle and Arthur to fully laugh at him "what?" John asked defensively. "woah don't get so worked up it was just nice to see you laugh for once" Arthur responded. "sure" John said staring miserably at him. "You know you need to learn to loosen up and let go of any anger you're holdin on to" Arthur adviced. Arthur then took John back to camp. "How'd you do boys!?" Hosea shouted to them from across camp "not bad I must admit, kid has potential" Arthur replied. "but I told him he needs to work on his attituded" Arthur joked, John rolled his eyes and sat down next to Hosea. "so what is it you lot do exactly?" John asked everyone. "Well," Dutch replied "we are dreamers, thinkers. we still have our soul unlike the rest of this godamn world" "how is that an explanation of any sorts?" John exclaimed. "oh you'll get used to answers that aren't really answers from these two especially" Arthur joked gesturing to Dutch and Hosea. "and so ends another day my dear people and to sleep I must go" Hosea said to all. "Does that mean we're going to sleep?" John asked Arthur to which Arthur replied "well of course not Hosea's just getting too old and too slow aren't you?" Arthur chuckled as the words came out of his mouth, "I can hear you and I'm still more than a match for you my boy" Hosea beckoned from his tent. And so the Van Der Linde gang succumbed to slumber.
