December 23rd…

Driving home from my mom’s place, all I could think about was my warm bed and thoughts of Jai. I hadn’t heard from him today, but that didn’t mean anything alarming. I knew he was busy trying to get out of England since filming was finished. I turned down my long drive way that was nothing but dirt and grass. Pulling up into the place where I parked my Toyota Scion, I parked it and got out. Locking it, I walked up the cobblestone path to the front door and put the key in the door to realize it was unlocked.

I never left my doors unlocked. It put me on high alert and slipped my keys into my pocket so I could use both of my hands if needed. I softly opened the door and noticed my alarm system had been disarmed. Someone was in my house. Someone who knew my alarm code. Not many people knew my alarm code. Not taking any chances, I prepared myself.  I softly began making my way up the stairs after I cleared the bottom floor. I cleared both my spare bedrooms and the spare bathroom. As I walked up to my bedroom, I picked up the brass candlestick to take the candle out of it. Arming myself with the candlestick, I slowly began opening my bedroom door.

Walking into my bedroom, the bedside lamp was on leaving a small, dim light in the bedroom. The dark purple and blue comforter on my queen sized bed sparkled in the light. I looked underneath the bed. There was nothing. I could hear someone behind me as I began to stand up. I adjusted the candlestick in my hand. As I stood up, I didn’t even think. I turned and let that candlestick fly out of my hand.

“Owe!,” I heard along with a thump onto the floor.

I ran over and looked down to see Jai!

“Oh my God,” I said, straddled him and grabbed his face in my hands. “Jai! Oh my God! I’m so sorry!!”

“It’s…alright…owe…”

“Where’d I get you?”

“In my forehead…that’s a great aim you have, babe.”

“Look at me,” I said and looked down into his eyes.

They were slightly dilated. He looked up at me and smiled.

“You do realize I could’ve killed you,” I said softly.

“I wanted to surprise you,” he said looking up at me. “I called your mother and she gave me your code.”

“I’m so sorry,” I said, leaned down and began kissing him all over his face.

I felt it when he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me down flush against his body.

“It’s alright, babe.”

“Let me get you an ice pack for your head,” I said and tried to get up.

“No, stay,” he said and held me tighter. “I haven’t seen you in weeks.”

I giggled at him; “If you don’t let me get you an ice pack, you’re going to get a knot.”

“I don’t care if I get a knot,” he said and kissed me back.

“Wait, did you say you called my mother?”

“I did,” he said as I pulled back to look down at him.

“How’d you get my mother’s number?”

“Tyler gave it to me,” he said in a questionable manner.

“What’s going on, Jai?”

“Nothing,” he said and tried to pull me down to kiss me.

“You’re hiding something,” I said and looked down at him.

“Trust me,” he said sweetly and smiled at me.
