I walked out of the slum that I call home, or more like everyone called home. I hated it here i desperately wanted to be something more than a miner.My parents had often told me that I could do anything, until the Capitol murdered them on a false accusation of stealing a loaf of bread. I pushed it out of my mind as I walked into the 15 year old section. Our escort jumped right into it after the short movie, Distict 12 hadn't had a victor in as long as anyone could remember. For our first tribute, we have "Elly Santos, I saw a little 12 year old girl come limping up, she didn't have to say her age, her size said it all. Next our escort said in a bored voice we have "Sylas Tucker, I saw a tall 14 year old kid with blonde hair on one side. Of his head, and the other side shaved come onto the stage and say "14" and sit down quickly. The next part is a blur as I struggle to realize that my name has been called, I know then that I will be something other than a miner. " Jed Green" a small undernourished boy walks up, and then we hear a sudden "I VOLLUNTEER!" And a 14 year old girl
Named Sasha Green walked up quickly, and whispered quickly "14 " and sat down" I gave an encouraging smile and she ignored it staring out into the crowd.
