THE BATTLE

As he smoothly slid the iron sword out of its sheath, the look on the flower's face shifted entirely.

"Then you know what's going on here, don't you...? You just wanted to r u i n m y f u n ."

Dream immediately shifted into his personal combat stance, but it was too late. Laughing maniacally, the flower surrounded him with a tight ring of pellets, which slowly closed in on his SOUL.

"DIE." the flower cackled, abandoning all pretense of sanity. Dream gritted his teeth as the pellets closed in...

"You gonna attack? You gonna kill me? Better hit me hard. Better make sure you get me in one shot. You gonna crush my SOUL, weed? Make sure you do it right. Make sure I don't get a chance to fight back. Because let me tell you, this sword is sharp enough to prune a few bushes, and I am strong enough to uproot an uppity dandelion. I want to see a white flag, right now, right here, or you are DEAD."

The flower laughed, a little nervously. "You're surrounded! How do you plan to survive? Are you seriously going to facetank this many pellets with your stupid paper-plate mask?"

Dream casually crouched and looked up as the pellets drifted over his head. Then, ever so slowly, he looked back down at the flower, who was still below him despite his crouch.

"First. I am tall."

He stood back up and lifted his sword.

"Second. I am experienced."

A line of text popped into existence above his head: 'DREAM LV9'

"Third, and most importantly."

For a moment, it seemed as if the dot-eyes on his mask were glowing red.

"This mask was made by my best friend."

With that, Dream slowly began trudging towards the flower, each step deliberate. The flower's eyes went wild. "You think you can challenge ME? I am the god of this world!" It sent a storm of pellets his way.

But Dream was filled with Courage.

Holding his sword ahead of him, he charged forward and through the bullets.

HP: 41/52

Without reaction to the pain he felt as they tore at him, he stopped and swung, an orange trail accompanying his slash.

The flower lost two petals and a piece of a third.

"Ghh! This... you!! YOU!" The flower ducked underground and appeared again further away. It looked... angry. It created a wall, blocking itself off. "I'm going to d e s t r o y you! I'm going to-"

Its outburst was interrupted by Dream's charge through the wall.

HP: 18/52

Screaming in rage and pain, Dream sliced again. For a moment, everything went orange. Then, Dream leaned on his sword, standing unsteadily, and glaring at the flower.

It was now missing half of its head.

Growling, it turned to him. "This isn't over. You've made enemies with the god of this world's future. Don't worry, would-be-knight..." It sank into the ground. "I'll make sure you have more than your fair share of dragons to slay."

The fading sound of monstrous laughter echoed as the flower vanished into the dirt...

Dream straightened up and pulled his sword out of the ground. Carefully and slowly, he wiped it down on his 6 million subscriber hoodie before sliding it into the sheath. He ambled over to the wall and leaned against it.

"That... hurt a lot..." he coughed. His SOUL, still visible above his chest, had a visible, jagged crack snaking down the middle. As he watched, the orange heart slowly faded back into him, signifying the end of the battle.

Dream took a deep, shaky breath-

and then froze at the sound of footsteps and a voice.

"I was woken by shouting... could it be that another has fallen down?"
