Enyo stepped into the classroom, afraid of the bullies that taunted and called names.

"Everyone, meet Enyo Tokomio. She's new to the country and can't speak English very well. Say hi Enyo."
The teachers soft, welcoming voice calmed Enyo down slightly, but she was still worried at what the others would think of her.

"Hey, Fairy floss, go back to the carnival," one extremely rude kid said to her. "If not, Madame Sela might eat you." He said, mimicking a monster. His words made Enyo feel like she was about to cry.

"Matthew, go to the principals office NOW!"  The nice teacher screamed, sounding like she wasn't so nice after all.

Enyo shivered, watching the kid the teacher called Mattew walk past her and out of the classroom.

"Please come sit down, Enyo." She said sweetly, pointing to a desk right near hers. Soon enough the class was writing stories, and Enyo was learning how to spell simple words like cat.

After the class, the teacher, which Enyo discovered was Miss Alexandria, told her that it was time to eat. Enyo stepped out of the classroom and down the stairs to an enormous area full of kids. Some of them saw her and shouted mean nicknames at her. Only one, called Jacinta, was friendly.

"Hi, I'm Jacinta, what's your name?" Jacinta said happily to Enyo.
"My name is... Enyo..." She said quietly back to the bright, bubbly girl.
"I guess you're new here, where are you from?"
"Japan..."
Enyo was shy and quiet, but ended up being close friends with Jacinta
