I'll always have your back <3 (Yaku x reader)

"Kenmaaaa" Y/n called as she ran next to him. "Gosh, why are you in a hurry?" She giggled.
"I wanna sit down so I can concentrate," He said not even looking up from his game.
"Hey, Kenma! New friend?" An all too loud voice said from behind.
"Idiot" y/n breathed as she turned around to see Kuroo.
Kuroo laughed (cue hyena laugh), "so what's your plan going to be this time".
Y/n was going to spend at least her first year of high school as a male. Why? Even she doesn't know. She just woke up one day and decided this is what she's gonna do. She wants to know what it's like to be a boy and so she's joining a new school, with new people and starting over. It's not like she wants to be a boy she just wants to see what it's like.
"I'll just act like a boy and when getting dressed I'll just go to the bathroom" she smiled.
"Right right and what about..." Kuroo looked down at her chest.
"Eh? Ha, I'm flat as hell so I'll be fine" she said straightening her back and placing her arms on her hips.
"That isn't something to be proud of" Kenma murmured.
"H-hey" she pouted crossing her arms.
"So you really think you could make it an entire year like this" Kuroo said pointing up and down.
"Yes, I do. This isn't a bad idea, right Kenma?" She grinned.
Kenma looked up from his game for a moment, looked y/n up and down before looking back and saying, "It is"
Y/n stopped for a second before running back next to Kenma. "Heyyy, I can do this. Have some more faith in me" she whined.
"Well, we are here so I guess there's no turning back," Kuroo said before walking ahead, Kenma following close behind. Y/n had stopped to take in the school. It was really pretty not gonna lie. She took in the sensation of starting a new school. So this was it. She had to survive at least one whole year at this school as a boy.
"I can do it. Yea I can totally do it" she thought throwing a fist in the air. She looked back in front of her to see Kuroo and Kenma way ahead of her. "Hey, guyss! Wait up" she said as she ran to catch them up. A new school, new people, she could make it work if she tried, is what she thinks.

"Whoop first class! Maths... no this is going to be good!" She closed her eyes and breathed heavily, having not noticed she was holding her breath. She opened the classroom door and walked in. "There's a lot of people here... no no don't get scared now just take a seat and talk to whoever's next to you y/n. Yea I've got this!" She thought as she took a random seat near a window. She looked next to her already preparing to look up because of her height, 5'2", but didn't expect to look way up. She finally met the eyes of the tallboy who was looking down at her.
"Oh, I- hi aha I'm f/n l/n, yeaa oh and who are... are you?!" She splurted.
"Oh I'm Lev Haiba," he said with a smile.
"How tall are you?" She said without thinking. She immediately placed her hand over her mouth while repeating the words I'm sorry over and over again.
"It's fine, it's fine, I'm 6'4". And what about you then?" He said.
"Oh I'm... 5'2"..." She pouted. "But I'm not letting height stop me!" She said jumping up although it was all too loud. She apologised and sat back down.
"Well, what do you wanna do then," he said resting his head on his hand to face her more.
"I wanna play volleyball," she said holding her right arm out like she's showing off her muscle, "so I'm joining the boy's volleyball team!" She jumped up again forgetting her volume. She once again apologised and sat down.
"Really! Me too" he said happily.
"Woah! What do you wanna do? I bet with your height you would be really good at blocking!" She said excitedly to have made her first volleyball friend, other than Kuroo and Kenma.
"I wanna become the ace of Nekoma!" He said triumphantly.
"Awesome! I just want to get the chance to spike the ball" she said, "spikings like super cool!" She motioned her spiking the ball.
"I know right! Be-" he was stopped mid-sentence when the teacher walked in. There started a boring Maths lesson.

"Schools over time to head to the gym" y/n thought. She and Lev have decided to go together. It's better to be with someone than alone. She walked along with the tallboy to the gym. She was a nervous wreck, mostly because she didn't want her secret to be found out, but she smiled and walked along, humming.
Eventually, they arrived at the gym.
"We're here!" She shouted. Lev opened the door as they walked in. The gym was big. There was already a few boys practising. She looked around until she could see Kuroo. He was the captain, right? She walked in taking a proper look around. All before tripping over a volleyball causing everyone to stop and look at her. "Aha- hiiii" she said rubbing the back of her head. Lev came over, holding his hand out and helped y/n up. At this point, Kuroo had walked over to the two.
"Your two of the new first years right?" Kuroo said.
Y/n glared at him for a moment before grinning and saying, "Yep! I'm f/n-" she pointed to herself, "and this is Lev" she pointed to Lev.
"Well then-"

Practice is finally over. Y/n stayed behind to practice her receives a little bit more. In reality, it was so she could get dressed on her own. She didn't notice Kuroo and Kenma walking into the gym. At that moment the ball hit the wall and came flying back into her face. "Owww that-" she muttered only to be cut off by roaring laugher from Kuroo. She whipped around glaring at him.
"Jeez you need to work on your receives" he laughed. Y/n continued to glare.

Once Kuroo calmed down he said, "you should pack up now we wanna go home".
"Is everyone else gone?" She asked.
"Should be. I made sure before coming here" he said, "Kenma can vouch for me, right Kenma"
"Yea he did. He also made me look, taking away my game" he gave a side-eye to Kuroo before looking back at his game.
Y/n snickered as she began to pack up.
"You gonna help or just stare?" She said to the two.
"I'll just stare," Kuroo said waving his hand dismissively.
"Tch-"

She finished packing and made her way to the club room to change. She was tired so kept putting things on inside out or back to front. She was halfway finished when she heard the door click and a person walk into the room. Thinking it was either Kuroo or Kenma she turned around ready to give them an earful until she saw...
